Chapter 46I am feeling a little bad for Aamir now! It seems like Della is the villain.....She is definitely not the goody two shoes she's made out to be since the beginning! I am liking the mystery now. If only Author had focused on this from the start lol
I think we aren't supposed to like Cormoran. We just have to think of him like a normal person with normal issues contrary to how they display detectives...very intelligent and top of everything and above everyone.oh no let it not be Izzy cause then I will be worried that Strike and Robin again won't be financially well off if their client turns out to be the murderer
What is this Aamir's family mystery now I'm wondering.
and that horse carvings is somehow related otherwise why would Aamir think of hiding it from Strike. and if it's related to Della then some bigger mystery is there.
who is the kid that got strangled? I'm wondering if it's Della's dead daughter!
And any speculations from the painting of Lethal White? how it could be related? like how its represents the murderer?who could it be?

Torquil and Fizzy are looking too inconsequential rn to be suspected but I am doubting both Raphael and Izzy, ruled out Kinvara the moment Izzy expressed her doubts! I think Aamir is indirectly involved through Della and she's the mastermind!
Good point about Della's daughter! With Chiswell's reputation, now I am thinking maybe he had an affair with the underage daughter and somehow ended up strangling her! I think the age of consent might be the legal/illegal thing mentioned in the beginning!
About the painting, it might also signify Chiswell's disappointment with his children if maybe they were somehow involved in the child's death and he had to cover it up?

Chapter 51
I am hating all the extra information! Charlotte and Mathew and all of it. Why do they have so many pages of personal drama?
I think one or more people from the family killed Chiswell. Raphael didn't like him, and he doesn't have a solid alibi. But he didn't have the key! Kinvara had a key but she has a too solid alibi. I am not sure about Izzy since she hired Strike to investigate but she could have another motive for that! I don't know about Fizzy or her husband. But I am suspecting there are more than 1 killers.
Flick had a key too since she was the cleaner. But she and Jimmy don't seem like the type to plan it in this detail. And Flick wasn't angry with Chiswell, she just wanted the money. So I don't think they had anything to do with the murder.
Painting of Lethal White definitely has some significance since its the name of the book. Does that painting signify something?

And yeah Strike is an asshole for doing that to Lorelei and even his reaction to her message made me loathe him.
I feel something odd about Torks and Fizzy I don't know why.
I think Della's daughter is not involved with senior Chiswell but the junior one. There is something about Freddie too in this story I feel.
I think the lethal white is either Winn daughter who looked good from outside but wasn't from inside and that's why the mare and the foul or it might be freddie who looked good from outside but rotten to the soul.
Do you remember the scene mentioned winn daughter's painting at the back of Della when Strike was seeing it. Why do I feel the Winn daughter is Lethal White and Freddie was somehow involved with her

And to tell you guys the first time he cheated on Robin with Sarah was when she was raped and assaulted by some criminal so dropped from university and stayed home and in this time this asshole was cheating on her

The writer shouldn't have wrote the first part of the book to be honest It could have been like 5 chapters just for the case and that's it.
I think there are multiple killers but not from family but rather outside family. I suspect winn and associates

I kept the book down at chapter 55 and was going to sleep and opened this discussion to comment and I saw that you mentioned chapter56 with spoilers so I couldn't stop there. I read the chapter 56 and came back to the thread.
Yeah things escalated quickly.

I think the group of people were Chiswells the boy who killed the girl is Freddie and was Winn daughter somehow associated with this?
I remember some line with the dead piss themselves in the message that Chiswell received and Billy mentioned the girl pissed herself when she died. So Jimmy was blackmailing about this.
I think Freddie strangled her. Winn daughter had affair with Freedie maybe and she was there and she couldn't live with it so she killed herself maybe and that's why Winn knew about this and sought revenge against Chiswell?
Maybe that is why he killed him with Della as mastermind and the Lethal white is winn daughter indeed?
And that explains bent sword!! cause Winn daughter and Freedie used to play fencing and that was the sword with which he defeated her!

I think Aamir and Winns are involved in the murder. the two man job!Aamir lost everything because of the scandal with the senior. and he gets easily provoked by that remember his reaction to Strike when he talked about it?
I think Aamir had this anger against Chiswell and the homeopathy pills had Lecheis written on it which Chiswell quoted against Aamir. or was it for the horse with lecheis name?
And Aamir knew the secret of the horse on the hill otherwise he wouldn't have hidden the carving when Strike came.
And now Aamir regretted what he did in his anger and he thought Strike came close to finding the truth that's why he disappeared?
Hey I am thinking one another angle. Could be that it was about euthanasia of a kid? The kid who died was autistic and was supposed to be euthanized which might be legal previously but immoral and now is illegal? and as the girl might daughter of immigrant foreign office has pictures of something to prove her existence.
and that's why the Lethal White?
the foal which looks good but isn't good?
we saw the mention of chiswell putting down the horse too!
and there was mention of putting down the white foal which is the best course of action from them.

I am thinking maybe Chiswell kids and Winn's daughter ended up killing a kid which is what Billy saw and Winn's daughter committed suicide because she couldn't cope! Freddie went into the army because of guilt as well! Senior Chiswell may have covered it up .

I don't think that's what happened. After the interview with Raphael, it's clear that Winn's daughter committed suicide for different reasons if he is not lying. And Freddie didn't have a good conscience to feel guilty as far as we know about him! And I still believe that whatever Billy saw has nothing to do with what the blackmail was about directly. Because whatever Jasper Chiswell did was legal if immoral when he did it which later became illegal. It was not related to a murder in my opinion. It could be animal cruelty or something on those lines!
But my mind keeps going back to Raphael for some reason. He keeps changing his statements and keeps pointing fingers towards others. He is very clear about some events that are unrelated to Jasper's death but he gets defensive when he is talking about his father(it could be because he was never considered a part of the family) but its fishy!

IF he is not lying that is. I am finding it difficult to trust anything that comes out of hsi mouth and yes before reading that part I felt like Freddie might be feeling guilty but now we know he wasn't that compassionate.
Billy's mystery and what happened 6 years ago are different but they definitely will coincide at some point in the future it seems!

I am really loving all the drama. I would love to know more about how Vanessa's ex was cheating with her and how she trapped them both! Why only 2 pages of that drama? And I would absolutely love to know more about Charlotte's babies and how she flirts with Strike :-/ Oh and the chemistry between Strike and Robin is just amazing! Great work there!

I feel it's related!
The fact that Billy mentioned the girl pissed himself when she died and the message chiswell received on phone where supposedly Jimmy was saying the dead piss themselves connect the dot for me and also the placard which showed dead black children and Suki was black as billy mentioned. It corelates somehow to me

I always thought their is some cruelty from Freddie involved cause he was a saint only for his father and for rest of the people they mentioned Freddie was not really good. Also, when they described his incident in army where his colleague was telling the story to Strike, Freddie seemed not so good a person

I also didn't like whatever conversation happened between Robin and Raph related to her personal life!

I am leaning towards Izzy being the murderer but she could just be annoying who knows 🤣 Robin and strike’s scenes together piss me off a lot! And i feel bad for Lorelei as well. She has done nothing wrong yet the way Strike treats her makes me angry at him. I know we’re supposed to like him because he’s the MC but really, his relationship handling capacities are Zero and I hate that the author chose to show him in one just to further the plot angle of Robin and Strike’s chemistry!
