I remember so many details about this book but can not remember the title or author so here's what I got:

A student was taken by her teacher and held captive in a house in the woods. She was locked up and assualted for years and eventually gave birth to a daughter that she nicknamed "chicken" because of the chicken little book.

The girl eventually escapes with her daughter to learn she was not too far from her hometown. She returns to her childhood home to find her mom and sister.

She struggles to adjust to life after being taken.

The teacher/abductor goes to trial for the kidnapping and the sister kills him in the courtroom to help "free" her sister.

I haven't read this yet, but the reviews and descriptions that I found online seem similar to what you are describing.
