OK it's true- I only read this because I wanted to watch the Disney+ movie. But hey! How fun was this kids book! (the movie was also stellar, and had some great Broadway cameos!)
Nate wants to be a BIG BROADWAY STAR. While he doesn't shine at home or at school, he decides to risk it all- and take the bus to New York City while his parents are away. Nate is going to audition for the new musical- ET. His BFF Libby is assisting from the sideline, and we meet a fun cast of characters along the way.
This had great situational humor, hilarious quips by our main character. We also get family values, with his older brother, and Aunt/Mom's relationship. Plus some coming of age moments with Nate's growing up and vulnerability.
