I haven't read the book and wasn't aware there was one, however; I did watch the movie and it was funny to me which made it enjoyable, and it was a very weird movie too. I do wonder if it is a bit different from the book.

The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy is a Sci-Fi novel written by Douglas Adams. The book is about a human “Earth Man” named Arthur Dent who is your very average Englishmen, he lives in England. the book starts with him waking up to the community council giving him a notice to tear his house down, so his friend Ford Prefect (An undercover alien and one of many writers for the most popular book in the galaxy The Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy) shows up and takes him to a bar to tell him that Earth is about to be destroyed. Throughout the book Arthur and Ford go on a very dangerous and odd adventure through space to find out the answer to the universe, the existence of earth and finding the legendary planet "Magrathea"
I really liked how the author of the book writes, throughout the story he uses almost to much description to the point where it’s like you’re watching a movie, even for someone who isn’t good at imagining what they read. I also like how short the book are, even though the vocabulary is more advanced it was a quick and enjoyable read.
