Chris (cdrmain) | 7 comments I was looking into information about Frank Baker (whose best known book is Miss Hargreaves) and find he has been confused with another author of the same name. Frank Baker (1908-82) who was born in London but lived mostly in Cornwall also wrote 'The Birds' ; 'I follow but myself';'The Call of Cornwall';'My Friend the Enemy';' Stories of the Strange and Sinister' - and a good many other books which I can let you know about. The other author is Dr Frank Baker (1910-99) who lived in Durham, North Carolina and was a fellow of Duke University. He specialised in Methodism and particularly John Wesley. He wrote over 30 books on these subjects. Could you create two author categories for these two writers?
Kind regards

Abcdarian | 26579 comments Found at least 5 Frank Bakers. I am unsure about "The Fontana Book Of Great Horror Stories", where a Frank Baker story "In The Steam Room" appears. Also "An Atlas Of World History", a juvenile book with Frank Baker as co-author. Any ideas on those?

The two authors you were concerned with:

'In the Steam Room' is a short story by the 1908 Frank Baker - and is included in his collection 'Stories of the Strange and Sinister' The Atlas of World History co-author is not 1908 FB and I suspect very unlikely to be 1910 FB - so that must be a third one!

Abcdarian | 26579 comments Or a 6th. Thanks!

Chris (cdrmain) | 7 comments No problem - by the way - a list of works by the 1908 FB can be found here: http://www.frankbaker.co.uk/bibliog.htm

I can supply cover artwork for some of them - apart from 'Miss Hargreaves' and 'The Birds' all his books have been out of print for over 50 years and copies are scarce now.

Abcdarian | 26579 comments If you'd like to upload the covers for the blank ones, perhaps to your profile, I'd be happy to put them on the books.

Chris (cdrmain) | 7 comments Thanks, I've uploaded 8 covers to my profile.

Abcdarian | 26579 comments I used the 2 that had blank covers on the author's page. The other books that you have covers for will have to be added to Goodreads if we can find them at Amazon or if you have the copies and would like to either add them yourself or post the details (title, ISBN, publisher, year, paperback/hard cover) for a librarian to add them.

Chris (cdrmain) | 7 comments Thanks Abcdarian. I've added 'Talk of the Devil' and also the 1964 Panter edition of 'The Birds' for cover artwork is also saved in my profile. I will add more books as I have time.

Chris (cdrmain) | 7 comments I've also added the original edition of Miss Hargreaves and uploaded the cover.
Would it be possible to rationalise the editions a bit for this title? Some of the recent Bloomsbury paperback editions are clearly duplicated.
Thanks!

Abcdarian | 26579 comments Covers added for Talk of the Devil, The Birds, and Miss Hargreaves. (You can remove the used pictures from your profile if you wish.)

I merged one mostly blank Tartarus edition, but the remaining Miss Hargreaves editions (except the lone Penguin) all have unique ISBNs or ASINs, so no removals.

Chris (cdrmain) | 7 comments OK understood. I've added Alanayr, Mr Allenby Loses the Way, and The Road was Free - which all have cover pictures on my profile. Thanks!

ETA Hang on, they're very small. Will try to correct.
