I have to say going into this book not knowing anything about it my emotions were definitely in shock. The moral dilemma that we see lily go through in her head feels really real or similar to what would happen in real life. I think this book is just an amazing representation of what happens in these types of relationships. (I'm rooting for Atlas and Lily :)
I haven't had that much time to read so I ended up reading almost all of it last night except for the first few chapters. I really like Allysa. You can tell that she was really torn in the situation. I'm glad she chose lily over her brother. You can tell she loves them both and wants the best for both of them, but she also doesn't want to put lily in an uncomfortable situation. I wish Lily and Atlas has a little bit more chemistry. I enjoyed reading the diaries, but I wish we got to see a little bit more of Atlas now. We don't really learn much about him other than that he is a chef and he still has feelings for Lily. I'm not rooting for Ryle by any means, I just want a little bit more Atlas and Lily content. I'm glad there is going to be a prequel.

Everyone likes to think when something bad happens to them they would stop and leave. But the reality is that the guilt is overwhelming. Both Ryle and Lily grew up in households with abusive relationships. Despite knowing that, Ryle doesn't do anything to stop him from doing it to Lily. I feel like bringing up the percent of people who leave abusive relationships gives the story more depth.
This story was very realistic because the author had personal experience with domestic abuse. I enjoyed reading how Lily’s perception of her mom changed when she realized she didn’t have all the information. It does remind you that you think you know what you would do in a situation before it happens but in the end you shock yourself. Atlas was such a kind gentle soul but his character was not interesting enough for me. The author dropped the ball on this character. I still rated this novel as five stars because I loved the story.

She was such a likable character, and really showed how much she cares when she chose Lily. If she didn't I don't know if Lily would've been able to handle it so I'm glad that she chose her.
For Atlas I felt like we were obligated to chose him just based on the fact that our other option was someone that we couldn't pick anymore. Don't get me wrong you could tell that they cared about each other, but your right there could be more chemistry.
