Tam I loved the original books as well as TOG. But what I found in this particular book is that there was no chemistry like the previous books, the sex scenes are a lot more matured which is fine when you are expecting a book of a sexual nature. The book replaces a potentially great plot with sex and sexual tension. The only excitement was in Cassian's pants, all the time. I would of thought he would of had more self control for being so old and so well put together when dealing with legions.

There is room for improvement with the character development as well as closing out of all of the unknowns like what about the remaining characters (Tamlin, Lucien, Az etc), the Trove etc.

I was not a fan on how Nesta was seen as the bad guy for going through a trauma and was not supported. Yes, her family tried in their own way but in previous books Feyre had more leniency when dealing with her demons when compared to Nesta. Rhys was seen as having empathy and consideration for people who are going through a rough time, but didn't show any of this towards Nesta. Yes, she was a horrible sister in the first book but she acknowledges this and wants to make it right so at least give her a chance.

The ending felt rushed and the building up towards the mate reveal was overshadowed in a way, given everything on the go.

I hope the future books and any future series that SJM create can go back to her roots that were beautifully portrayed in TOG and the first 3 books of ACOTAR.
