The archangels tell me I’m dead, but when I wake, I don’t feel dead. It’s still 1776 on the Wilkinson farm in RI, but I’m not Jemima anymore, I’m a spirit – a non-binary spirit – sent to save souls before the impending apocalypse. Can my own family be convinced, let alone anyone else? Will I be chained up as crazy, branded a witch, arrested for heresy? Will I even survive war in the colonies, going on all around me?
