Hello from Southeast Texas

Hi. Marti here, from the city of Orange in Southeast Texas. I left here in 1982, joined the Navy (6 years), then in 1988 moved to metropolitan Washington, DC. I had to move back in 2013 due to some family responsibilities, and I greatly miss my old Mid-Atlantic home.

Poetry, history, liberal religious criticism, socialism, theatre and gay fiction/authors are obviously my interests. Would especially like to have goodreads "virtual" friends from the Baltic Republics and the lands formerly of the Holy Roman Empire.

Have you done much traveling in Europe?

A few times in the Navy (France, Germany, Italy, Monaco), once for civilian work (England), and once just last year to visit my last intern roommate in DC and to meet his family (Czech Republic).

I went to Czech Republic to visit a penpal and have been to quite a few countries, but still missing a lot. I'm going to Poland in April.
