What else are you reading - May 2022

I just finished Plague Birds, off of it's Nebula award nomination. Post apocalyptic, set in the far future where most of humanity is leading a pretty low tech life, but the tech is definitely still around.

I thought it was really good for about 90%, with crazy SFF ideas, intriguing conspiracies, etc. The end reminded me a bit of a Marvel movie with a big dumb action scene, which I didn't love as much. Overall worth reading, but not my favorite of the Nebula nominees this year (I haven't read them all yet).

Part way through Nghi Vo’s The Chosen and the Beautiful
It’s F. Scott Fitzgerald meets er, I’m not sure who - somebody who writes magical realism. Gabriel Garcia Marques? I’m quite enjoying it. The Great Gatsby shines in a whole new light.
