Do you track your hours, or pages read, or books finished? What counts for you as a successful readathon? How is yours going so far?

I track pages read and books finished.

What counts for you as a successful readathon?
A balance of pages read, snacks eaten, books finished,
great coffee, socializing with everyone and NAPS...lol

How is yours going so far? I'm feeling good about my progress. I can say that I'm battling fatigue currently... :-)

Sarah (morr_books) | 116 comments I create reading goals and track them every hour in my bullet journal. I don't track hours anymore, because I tend to do the full 24 hours. I track finished books, pages read, postings, and ounces of water drank (because I have learned the importance of hydration in making it the full 24 hours).

Lamilla | 823 comments I track my reading on goodreads, and post the books I'm reading or finished here in the Blogless section
Participating in several reading sprints and reading more than usual is a success for me!

I had a late afternoon glass of iced coffee
and I'm still pumped for the challenge .

Beth | 190 comments I've completed a few short books. I did a couple of sprints, but I missed a couple of them; I've had trouble keeping track of time today. I've been in and out this readathon. I had planned to participate in discussions more, though... maybe next time

Doni | 101 comments This is my first readathon, so I guess success just means that I give myself permission to read more than I usually would. I had a bunch of other stuff to take care of today, so won't be able to read for the full 24 hours, but kudos to those who are that dedicated!

Mai (mairaculi) (mairaculi) | 4 comments Only how much time I spend reading and if it's fun. I like to know how much books I finish and how many pages I read but honestly that differs so much depending on the book and the language I read in so it's no good to use it for comparison.

Susy (susysstories) | 2288 comments I track hours, pages and books.
April is always a successful readathon, cause my friend and I rent a place in the woods, bring lots of snacks and have a fun and cozy time together.
Also I love the interaction with my worldwide fellow readers here on GR, on IG, Twitter, FB.
And last but certainly not least, I read more than I usually do on a weekend.
So yeah, all the ingredients for a great readathon!

What a fun idea to rent a place with bookish friends and read! I love it Susy!

Catsalive | 182 comments Mine's not going well today. Most of the day has been too busy to get much reading done as an old friend is in town for a couple of days before heading off overseas.

I think a successful RAT for me would have a couple of books finished.

That sounds great.

Catsalive | 182 comments I'd love to read for 24 hours some time, but I can't see it happening. When I was younger I could have done it, & probably did.

I like the excuse to take a day off from everything else, at least in theory. I tend to feel guilty if I am not available for whatever other people want me to do, so a successful readathon for me is often when I can focus on reading without feeling too guilty or distracted by other obligations, just for 24hrs. Realistically the other stuff still pops up, but not as much as most Saturdays. If I finish whole books, that's a bonus.

Cathy (cathepsut) | 576 comments I track pages read via StoryGraph more regularly, aka hourly instead of daily. Other than that it is just a nice opportunity to stay focused on reading. If I manage to do that without allowing myself to get distracted, it‘s a success.

Julie Wakefield | 46 comments For me, just reading. I don't create a specific pile but have plenty of shelves to choose from. Sometimes, like this year, I know I would be able to finish the book and get close with the audio.
