Sylvie (sylview) | 189 comments I was looking up a Jules Verne novel and saw that it had the "Voyages Extraordinaires" series title and # in its name but I couldn't click on the series. So I went to the Verne series page and found this:
https://www.goodreads.com/series/list...

1) Many of these seem to be two-volume editions of one work by Verne (a fairly common practice in other languages). Are these now considered series? Or should these "series" be deleted?

2) The series I was looking for was nowhere to be found (although many of the editions of novels in the series have VE and the VE # in the title field). However, I did find VE as a listopia list: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/1...

Is there any reason I shouldn't create this as an official series?

Note: Here is the Wikipedia entry for Voyages Extraordinaires:

Scott | 9478 comments The books are not related to one another at all, so it does not count as a series by GR standards.

Two-volume breakdowns of a single book are considered a "series", however, since they are directly related to one another.

Sylvie (sylview) | 189 comments Thanks for the response. I haven't dabbled in editing series for years and that wasn't how I remembered the definition.

Follow-up question: Should I then edit the stray "series" info out of any titles I notice with it?

Scott | 9478 comments Yes if it's not a series it should be edited out.
