: ) And it's like a decade old, how have I not read this yet?

Ginger | 3903 comments I’ve got to find a way to get to this one in May. It’s been on my TBR list for way too long. Woohoo, really looking forward to reading it!

message 5: by Lena (new)

Lena | 2673 comments I love this author and this is one I have not read yet.

Jason | 486 comments I have had this book on my TBR for ages will be getting on this.

I placed a hold on Overdrive.

Latasha (latasha513) | 11974 comments Mod
I didn’t realize Those Across the River was his first book. It’s my favorite audiobook.

message 12: by Char (new) - rated it 5 stars

Char | 17459 comments This is one of my favorite books. I love Buehlman and everything he's written so far. This was great on audio too. I've never read anything like it or before, or since.

message 13: by Sally (new) - added it

Sally | 340 comments I am in shock! My local library actually has a physical copy of one of our group reads? Yes!!! Please let it still be there by the time I get there!

message 14: by Char (new) - rated it 5 stars

Char | 17459 comments Good luck, Sally! You don't want to miss this one!

message 15: by LTJ (new) - rated it 5 stars

LTJ (ltj81) | 2000 comments @Sally: I hope your local library puts a piece of white paper over this amazing cover to prevent people from seeing its sheer awesomeness...

message 16: by Sally (new) - added it

Sally | 340 comments Thanks guys, I feel like I'll be safe. In my town I'm very likely to be the only one interested in a fantastic book like this. The wait lists around here are for romance and civil war stuff.

message 17: by Emilie (new) - added it

Emilie | 48 comments This is also an audible included title if anyone would rather listen to it. I’m shocked. That almost never happens for horror group reads.

Megan (meganphyre) | 40 comments Woot! I’m definitely down for this! It sounds amazing, and right up my alley. Love any kind of death, demon, hell anything so i’m definitely there. Maybe my library will have a kindle copy, but if not - worth a buy!

message 20: by Char (last edited Apr 22, 2022 07:43AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Char | 17459 comments Nice! I have the Audible, so I may join in for a re-read.

If you buy the Kindle edition for $7.99 you can add the Audible for an add 7.49. That's still a pretty good price considering the costs of most audio books.

Lawrence | 36 comments I've been a member of this group for some time, though I have never joined in with the group reads (time the biggest obstacle). I mostly read the activity and reviews and so forth.

This book sounds like a chilling winner, and my library system has a copy. A hold has been placed!

I read this book a few years ago and it's still among the best books I've ever read. It's incredibly well-written. I know you'll all enjoy this one. :)

Giovanni Farotto (farotto) | 85 comments I think I will be joining this one too. I missed the march reading, by I am intrigued by this one.

Rochelle (rstenclik) | 11 comments I finished Between Two Towers. I can't say if I know how I felt about it. the writing was stellar, the characters deep/well thought out, there are some really excellent threads that tie together well.
**sort of spoiler**
however, I am not sure how to take the religiosity of the work. is it a plot device? is it meant to make me see the error of my ways and turn to God? is it tongue and cheek? I really have no idea as the entire thing is about religious people trying to achieve a goal for the good of their religion***
end spoiler. I'd can't wait to hear other people's thoughts.
