The novel in question: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/5...

The most commonly used English title is "The Wrong Way to a Demon Sect Leader" with the author "One Big Goose." It would be useful to be able to search by these to locate the work on Goodreads. Most other Chinese webnovels seem to have translated titles on Goodreads so I'm wondering if this is possible.

Here's an informational page about the novel: https://www.novelupdates.com/series/t...

Thank you!

lethe | 16368 comments As far as I'm aware, webnovels shouldn't be registered in Goodreads at all.

I'm sorry, but this is simply incorrect. Webnovels are considered a perfectly valid book record.

https://help.goodreads.com/s/article/... "serialized, web-only editions that have been subsequently published as completed works"

Has the completed webnovel subsequently been published as a print edition or ebook, such as a PDF?

This particular novel is completed and published under the webnovel platform Changpei Literature. (As is the case with most of these Chinese webnovels.) The manual does not mention a print version or PDF specifically being necessary for being considered a valid book record. It literally says that a "web-only edition" is fine, and that is what this is.

I don't what your big issue with this is, or why you are choosing to raise this issue on my resolved thread instead of asking your fellow librarians for clarification. I find it a little bit rude since I mainly read and enjoy webnovels. As a regular user, what do you expect me to do about it? Please kindly raise this issue with those who make the policies instead of me. All I can say is, if Goodreads didn't allow webnovels, thousands and thousands of records would need to be removed, some of which are very popular.

lethe | 16368 comments I refer you to the Librarian Moderator*'s comments, linked to in msg #5.

*who happens to be staff

I was just questioning the addition of webnovels such as this to the database, and the links seem to prove me right.

From the librarian manual:

>If a title is given in non-roman characters (kanji, Cyrillic script, etc.) and a transliteration in roman characters is available, the transliteration can be placed in square brackets after the title and any subtitle; this is optional. Do not provide a translation in the title field.
