March Challenge - Aussie Author Month
Think I'm going to start with Sleight Malice by our own Vicki Tyley. Been wanting to read it for ages!
I hope it's ok to join this challenge when I didn't complete the Feb one? :) I'm going for a Roman theme.

I enjoyed the style of writing and structure of this book - the imagery and the descriptions are superb. However, I was a little disappointed with the storyline, which was too abstract for me and found it hard to identify with.

Did you enjoy Empire Day. I read it earlier in the year for the Summer Challenge. I enjoyed reading it and about that period in history. However, found the ending a little disappointing.
I'm up to my third book for this challenge - started Bereft this morning (4. male author). Contrary to what I expected based on the synopsis, it seems to be moving along at quite a good pace already.

Odette - I found it a bit boring to be honest. I found the bits about Nazis being allowed to migrate into Australia and then being used for intelligence on Communist activity interesting, but I haven't yet found anything to corroborate this, and there was nothing at the end of my copy that mentioned sources for the ideas etc???

There could be information available about intelligence activities of that time at the National Archives. I seemed to remember reading somewhere that they had some espionage type files open to view.

It's the only McCullough I have read before. I loved it at the time - will be interesting to hear what you make of it Phrynne.
Meanwhile, I have made a start with Addition (debut - Toni Jordan). I'm enjoying it so far and think it will be a pretty quick read.
