I am up to 80% - Chapter 38 page 523.

Thoughts so far.


(view spoiler)[ The Hunter just cleaned house of the Bloody Hand and what I thought was cool - a "bloody hand" of Breaker went flying through the air with the greatest of ease! Couldn't happen to a nicer person! LOL

Way to go Andy! That was awesome! I was thinking to myself "about bloody time" - do you see what I did there?! LOL

The Hunter is sweeping out the trash and leaving broken bodies in his wake!

I love the action - I love how the bad guys are being taken out one by one and I love how the Hunter has such compassion for the people of his city, but has a deep hatred for the men and demon that have caused such pain and misery to the people of Voramis and to himself. (hide spoiler)]

Oh and one more thought.

(view spoiler)[I am curious about the dagger and how it has become silent. My thoughts are: That Lord Jahel has some how changed the daggers allegiance to him and the dagger no longer serves the Hunter. As I cannot see Lord Jahel destroying the dagger - he had to have somehow changed its priorities where it now serves him and not the Hunter. (hide spoiler)]

Probably not in this book either no doubt! LOL You would have to somehow keep the readers in suspend mode to keep them roped in for the long haul! Authors are so very good at that! LOL

Yes this book is 600+ pages. :)

This thread is for just this book, however when everyone is finished reading it we will be continuing the series, but I will open up a thread for book 2. Also Andy has said he will be around on here for all of us on this journey into this world of the Assassin.

This thread will stay open for everyone and there is no end date for reading the book.

For anyone that reads the book in the future this thread will always be here for future readers as well.

What is the pace? Monthly? The 14th through the 13th of every month? Just trying to get an idea.

Edited to add: At 600+ pages, I would be comfortable with every other month, but I tend to read at a slower pace than most, from what I can tell.

We don't know yet - we are not planning anything yet - we are playing it by ear because so many of us have other book reads in other groups and we are planning on scheduling the next book around our book schedules. We are not sure yet on dates.

For now we are just waiting for the ones of us that are still reading the book as there are a couple or so people besides you still in the beginning to middle of the book.

Getting ready to start chapter 38, page 523. (view spoiler)[ So I am in total agreement that reading the scene where Breaker got broken was very entertaining. I also love that The Hunter whispered his friends' names to him before he died.

Now I'm very nervous about my boy Bardin! That was a very emotional scene with Eylisse (Old Nan 2.0) but glad she was able to help him figure out his next step. (hide spoiler)]

I am 92% in and up to chapter 50 - page 607

Thoughts so far:

(view spoiler)[Wow! I was exhausted last night - I read for a couple of hours yesterday and for another hour or so last night.

Poor Bardin - I was so hoping you would "spare" someone Andy!

I was wanting those hot coals so I could drag you slowly over them! LOL

The Hunter was such a broken mess - I am still amazed that he came out of it all alive. I thought the demon coming through the portal was cool and then it getting ripped in half was so visual that I could see that happening as if it was on a movie screen.

The huge fight with Tane! OMG!!! I thought it was never going to end! I think that was the longest fight and I was just worn out by the time that ended. But what a brute Tane was and it took a lot to kill him. Tane sort of reminded me of the trolls in LOTR - huge like that and could hardly be killed. That was how I was picturing Tane - big and strong like that.

Now I am curious about the boy Hailen and what he really is and then learning that Garanis is also a demon.

There was a lot to absorb reading all that yesterday and last night! lol

This is why I finished this book so fast. I HAD to know what was happening next. There were times I couldn't put it down.

I agree. A satisfying conclusion to a first book but I really want to read more of his adventures. Luckily there are more already out and in the works!

I was going to order the rest of the available books of the Darkblade series but I noticed book 4 is ebook only. Is there plans for that to be released as a physical book? i assume so, but i was just trying to confirm and order accordingly.
