It's the late 60's in Chicago, and society is quickly evolving. With the battle over civil rights in full swing, and the woman's suffrage just around the corner, it would seem to most that events could not get any more tumultuous.

However, it can. Darkness stirs underneath it all; and whispers of a creature part man---part beast, have begun to surface. Werewolves roam free across the lands, their identities hidden to mortals. Yet, a new species of werewolf has begun to plaque the world alongside them. Creatures born from under the murky light of the blood moon; creatures who embrace their beast form, with open arms.
Creatures of insanity.

Children are going missing; carriages are turning up in the thick of the woods, torn to shreds. The chaos of the world, is about to face a new type of foe. One that does not meet with earthly standards; and instead, thrives off fear.

They are known as blood wolves, a type of werewolf that unknowingly sacrifices parts of themselves in order to attain the ability of unhindered transformation, by the light of a blood moon. This sacrifice, a ritual performed by ancestors, is passed down from generation to generation. Only now these creatures, have become a real threat.
The ritual has begun to take its toll, in the form of the blood wolve's sanity. After so long, they can no longer discern themselves from the wolf inside; they have lost something human, that can't be replaced.
