Ok so I really want to re-read The Odds by Jeff Strand and think that a lot of people will enjoy it, if we can do it this summer or whenever it would be super fun :)

I have a few books by Strand that I need to step into so this will be fun. One of his books I read was Sick House and that book was really good. My first introduction to his work and what a ride that turned out to be. :)

No worries Chris. We will let you know when we set it up. As far as instructions - it is easy peasy. When we set up the buddy read thread for the book you just come over to chat on the thread about the book as you are reading it with everyone.
During the chat though we also use spoilers so that other members that are reading the book won't see certain things in the book discussion that would spoil for them while reading.
Here is the code to use a spoiler: < spoiler>...< / spoiler >
I fixed it like that so you can see what the code looks like - where you see the dots just take those out and insert what you want to say about certain parts of the book that you find intriguing or interesting. Then take out all the spaces as the spoiler code really runs all together with no spaces.
This is what the spoiler will look like after you do it: (view spoiler) .
Hope that helps. :)

Awesome Chris! Glad you'll be joining us. We'll let you know when we decide on date. And as far as instructions, you just read at your own pace, pop into the thread and share your thoughts when you feel like it. We use spoiler tags so we don't ruin the story for people who aren't as far along. The instructions for typing spoilers are in the (some html is ok) tab above the comment box.

Us mods have been discussing doing a buddy read for two fantasy series.
The first series is this one which is kind of lengthy with 17 books in the series.
A Quest of Heroes by Morgan Rice
The second series is this one which I have learned will also be kind of lengthy at some point with maybe 12 books in the series.
Assassin by Andy Peloquin
So if anyone would like to join us on both of these series just let us know and we will schedule them. We will set up a series folder for each one to make it easy for everyone. :)

Awesome Chris! We will sign you up! Since you are the first sign up member for that read then I will go create a thread. I can always edit month & day later. :)

I would like that Felina. I've never read it and it's on my TBR. Maybe late May if that's ok? I've got a couple of reads set up in early May already.

Awesome, I'll pick a random date in late May and put up a thread for us.

Hey friends! Marie and I are going to read this cool book about true stories behind our favorite horror movies in late June...
Let us know if you'd like to join us! We'll be posting a thread soon!

The Red Knight series has some impressive reviews, even from Gwynne and his sons! First time I hear about it too, when are you reading it?

Ok, let's make sure to chat about it in a few weeks. That looks great.

Yes to The Last Kingdom series! I've got them on my bookshelf and have been wanting to get to them.😊 And just to be clear, you're talking about the series by Bernard Cornwell, right?😏

I'd be interested in either one depending on when you start.

Sounds like a plan! Now i have some shopping to do. I just spent a bunch at the local bookseller. (Talking Leaves...shameless plug for a local place) Time to head over again.

Well, whenever you decide to read it, just let me know, and I'll see if I can work it in with my schedule.😊👍🏻

I read the first two and gave them both 5 stars and then had to wait for the third and never got to it. It’s been long enough that I need a refresher for the first two before I do the last one.

Krystal, for sure stalk the thread and then join us in a October for the third one.
Mods, do I set up the buddy read thread or do you?
@Felina happy to do it for you, it's for The Passage by Justin Cronin in August, correct? What genre would you say it is?

Just stick it in horror, Sally as it looks like the book has been shelved more in the horror genre. :)

I'll do a separate thread for each book, depending on how my reading schedule goes I'll try to join you!

Just make it in the proper genre folder and you will be set. For example if the buddy read is for a horror book then create the thread in the horror folder - if the book is fantasy then create the thread in the fantasy folder, etc. That way the buddy reads will be organized in that genre.
If you need help creating it, feel free to ask us for help. Thank you and have fun.
