Daisy | 2 comments Looking for a book i read 1985-1990. The girl (Laurel, Laurelei, something like that) had red hair and worked at an inn, met a guy and left with him. They fell in love, sex ensued, got to his brother's (who is paralyzed and in wheelchair) ranch and the guy gets washed away in a flood and assumed dead. Realizes she is pregnant, and marries brother for protection but doesn't mention preggo. Original guy shows up, can't deal, so he leaves. Girl eventually comes to love her husband. She has the baby, it's a girl, and husband believes the child is his. A little boy comes into the story at some point but he is not blood relation. Story jumps ahead a few years, they get attacked by indians and her husband dies. I know the story jumps again to the daughter being around 17 and the little boy being an adult maybe 20. The first brother (girl's biological father) comes back. The boy has loved the daughter for years, but she is stubborn.

There's something about a long lost father and him being a Shaker. And maybe a neighboring rancher that wants to buy/take over their ranch. Anyway, it's really good and of course there's a HEA. Please help! Thank you!

I think this is Beneath The Texas Sky by Jodi Thomas. The elements you mention are found across different reviews. Searching books.google.com indicates that the brother Ben is in a wheelchair and Bethanie's parents were Shaker.

Daisy | 2 comments Yes! I did a Google search, but I guess I either gave up too soon or didn't put enough in the search string. Thank you!

You're welcome! This one was rather tricky because the publisher's blurb and most of the reviews didn't have all the details you mentioned. :) I did a Google search plus a separate search on books.google.com.
