This is for my 7th draft. I tried to make this more specific and better worded. Thoughts?

THE LOST ELEMENTALIST is a YA fantasy crossworlds novel inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender with a protagonist like Tangled's Rapunzel and a world tainted by dark magic.
Selenia Ki is done dealing with her overprotective mother. First, she's grounded from her friends "forever" because she failed to make it home before sunset. Then, her mom threatens to move away and homeschool her after a strange windstorm tears down their mundane Colorado house. Curious and desperate for a life of her own choosing, Selenia runs away.
Lost in the wild, Selenia hopes to discover more magic, like that which she witnessed and accessed during the storm. When she takes shelter with a beautiful fox that controls fire, she learns of an all new danger.
Raith is Selenia's counterpart, naturally born without elemental powers in a world reliant on them. Fifty years ago, he changed his fate by aquiring an ancient, dark magic. Now, he leads a war to rewrite his world. Out of jealousy, pride, or perhaps something darker, he hunts Selenia.
Selenia is in love with magic and the world she's discovered, but her naive, reckless decisions lead her to deadly consequences. She must become strong enough to face Raith, but her own fears and desires may tear her apart first.
At 104K words, The Lost Elementalist examines the strength and boundaries of platonic, romantic, and self love through dark times. An #ownvoices novel from female and ADHD experiences, this story also features a cast of varying ethnicities and neurotypes. It is perfect for fans of the Grishaverse, the Effigies, or Codex Alera--or anyone that needs more Sokka energy and Iroh kindness in their lives.
If this interests you, I have the full manuscript ready at request.
