Phillip Emerson turns out to be the killer. Were there any clues pointing to him before it was revealed? How did this man get away with molesting Tessa over so many years?

I didn't think we were given much about how this could have happened except the fact that she was in grief over the loss of her parents and her grandparents seemed to have little control over her. I suspected him because of the way the killer's thoughts involved planning and covering tracks as well as they way he thought he was above everyone else.

Agree, Lynn. The reader wasn't given much to go on and it really was a process of elimination. There were a lot of possibles thrown at the reader which never really tipped over to probables. Reading back it does seem that the killer was an adult not a teen so Phillip was the closest adult to Tessa I guess.
