ShoSho - re: Reece, my theory is she'll be a love interest of Eric or the doctor. I wouldn't have given her a second thought until Devon said how good looking she was and then I thought hmmmm...welcome to Thunder Point! I was also thinking Laine might have a future in Thunder Point! Maybe the good doc might help her recover! Just a thought! ; )

17. I agree with you ShoSho. More bonding between Devon and Austin, that part was missing completely! Spencer seems to get along with Mercy.18. I liked the interaction between Cooper and Austin. Seems realistic.
19. I agree. I think It would have been nice to have a talk between Spencer, Austin, and Devon.
20. I was relieved that it was the FBI. At first I thought oh no!
21. See separate post re theory on Reece, oh I have plans even if the author may not agree, we'll just have to wait and see!
22. I can see your point ShoSho. But I'm really enjoying this series, I like a little fluff now and then!
23. I just noticed I missed this number. Probably deleted a question and didn't fix the follow ups! Oops!
24. I think Spencer goofed big time! Devon asked him if he was sure and he assured her he was. He did go thru heck the past year though so I do feel for him but he hurt her and I agree with Cooper! So there I got it out of my system!
25. Rawly is definitely The Hero!
26. I wanted Jacob to be gunned down! Shot several times as a matter of fact! Evil man!
27. I wanted Devon to let him stew for a while to tell you the truth, he got off too easy! I agree with you ShoSho, it got watered down.
28. I thought it was a nice touch. I live in Coos Bay, just north of Bandon. So 'Thunder Point' should be around here somewhere! Looks like I moved to the wrong place! LOL!
29. I thought it was a bit rushed but I guess that's how we do things here on the southern Oregon coast! Just kidding! I love this series. After some of the dark stuff I read last month, it's kind of refreshing to get back to the lighter side! It's a four star read for me!
ShoSho wrote: "I read the blurb for the next book so I know who ends up with Eric :D"I was going to read it but was trying to get these questions out. I'll have to go back and check it out!
ShoSho wrote: "I read the blurb for the next book so I know who ends up with Eric :D"I just read! Wow! (view spoiler)
I'm going to try and catch up with you all, but I've got company coming next week. May I'll be with you for April. I'm hoping to answer the DQs, though. ☺
LK, that one gets a bit hairy at times. When I was reading it at one point I started to ask myself if I really wanted to deal with that much angst and unhappiness. Good news, the author doesn't take the easy way out, and things do move on from the crazy amount of drama.
ShoSho, you answered my questions for me again. I was happy to see that Rawley got to be the hero and be recognized for his strengths. And I was also disappointed that we never found out how Jacob tracked her down. And that he was taken out off screen. It wasn't really satisfying as the author could have followed him (or someone else) to show us what happened rather than giving a one sentence report.
@Silvia, you really live in this area? It must be a beautiful place to live.
Yes Lara - I live about 30 - 40 minutes north of Bandon (where Dr Scot works besides his small clinic in Thunder Point) in the town of Coos Bay on the southern Oregon coast. It is beautiful here. North Bend is a small town just next to Coos Bay, it used to be part of Coos Bay until it split off, and then there's sleepy little bay village of Charleston (really a part of Coos Bay) where the Coast Guard is located (where Sarah flies helicopters). The high school football rivalry between Coos Bay and North Bend is fierce! So there's a little background of the area!
Thanks Silvia! It must be fun to have your area described in a series. I always enjoy it when books I read take place in a place familiar to me.
I have a question, do you think this series is more romance or women's fiction? When reading
I began asking myself this question. What do you think?
ShoSho wrote: "I think it's more small town soap opera rather than anything else !"LOL! It does have a lot of angst and drama, doesn't it?

It does and I really enjoy the ups and downs !
I just remembered something , did you notice that when Eric and Ashley were talking about Frank , it was implied that A&F are now officially together as boyfriend and girlfriend ?
ShoSho, I noticed that too, but I recalled that they were starting to move to be more than friends, so wasn't surprised.
Lara wrote: "ShoSho, I noticed that too, but I recalled that they were starting to move to be more than friends, so wasn't surprised."It wasn't a surprise but I would have liked a clear sentence or 2 about it to see how they are doing!
Was anyone else underwhelmed with Spencer? I expected more depth and subtlety from his character, but Carr didn't do much with him other than: help out when someone initiates, act goofy, freak out, and lamely come to his senses. I didn't feel like I got to know him much as a character.

You're right. All that drama in the previous book and now it's water under the bridge. I agree that it would have been nice to have a bit more carry over. There was just enough to remind you what happened, but not much on any stories moving forward other than Ashley and Eric.
Lara wrote: "Was anyone else underwhelmed with Spencer? I expected more depth and subtlety from his character, but Carr didn't do much with him other than: help out when someone initiates, act goofy, freak out,..."No his story didn't turned as good as it could have been!

No hopefully we'll see more of them in the next book which is Eric's book!
ShoSho wrote: "Ezi , have you finished this one yet?"Yes. I've finished. It wasn't as good as book 1&2 but enjoyable still.
I'll be back with more thoughts later.
I should have gone with this one in the series... I'm listening to book that is a little too dark for me right now. **sigh** Not that I'm listening all that well.Any date in April is fine with me; hopefully, I'll be caught up by then. (Ha!)
“Buddy Read” of The HeroShoSho's Questions & Lisa Kay’s Answers for Chapter 1-6
1.What was your first impression of Devon with her uniform and long braid? [ I thought we'd get a timid heroine who has never lived outside of the compound, thank God it wasn't like that! I wouldn't have liked it.
I like Devon, but I’m a sucker for a woman with a kid. Yes, I thought she was going be very timid, but she had a life before the Compound.
2. When she thought about the compound and the family, I had a different image from what it turned out to be . I imagined a place with 50 people living a sort of Amish life. I didn't expect it to be as icky as it turned out to be!! What sort of women would accept such a life? A desperate one?
Oh, I was expecting icky. Yes, a very desperate one, but Jacob was searching for those types.
3. As it turns out the men don't have anything to do with the women living there , only Jacob is their "Brother" and the others are just a sort of bodyguard! If Jacob is running an illegal operation how can he trust new men all the time and let the others go ? Isn't it risky ?
I can only hope one of them turns on him. LOL!
4. Lain ,the girl who helped Devon get away, could she be an undercover agent? How did she arrange the car and backpack?
That’s what I was thinking! LOL! Great minds…
5. It's the first time we're reading Rawley's POV, how do you like him ? Is inside his what you thought it would be? [ I was surprised by his POV, I thought he would a bit weirder in his head!! (hide spoiler)]
Rawley is a surprise to me; I like him more and more and more with each book.
6. Is Spenser going to be "The Hero"? And he started by eavesdropping! LOL, of course he redeemed himself by helping in cleaning her house! He is already attracted to her but no reaction from her yet. Isn't it too early for him after his wife death?
I’m with some of the others of you; Rawley’s been more of a hero in this book, thus far. As far as Spenser, how long was his wife ill before her death (I’ve forgotten)? **shrugs** As a nurse, I’ve seen it before, where someone gets in a relationship – seemingly right away – if their spouse has had a long-term illness.
7. I'm thinking things are going too easy for Devon, she got a job, a house, her driver license,... , something bad is going to happen, right ?
True. . . but I like it.
8. Should she have gone to the police now that she know what's really going on in the compound?
I can see why she didn’t go to the police… but she doesn’t know Mac, who would be totally cool with it.
I'm almost ready to answer the second set of DQs. I was out with friends all day yesterday, so didn't get any listening done. Today looks pretty full, too. We'll see.
I know! I am. Everyone wants to take me out to lunch and then go shopping. I'm like, "Well, I have to pack... but twist my arm." LOL!
