"I only see trees," says Nyx, looking around.

-Pepper was flashing in and out of view, flying fast and strong through the thickly laid trees-
Ash held the rustle of trees, and changed into an eagle, with a wolf charm around her neck. She called out to the other eagle, taking flight.

Nyx noticed an eagle. She shifted to that form and called out.

"Hi, I'm Nyx," Nyx says, transforming as well. "I'm looking for a pet. Oh, this is Cornelius, Ash, and Flynn."
Cornelius flashed a bright smile, holding tightly to Bowie, their stuffed ram. "Hello!!" they said cheerfully, waving a bit. They bounced on the balls of their feet a bit, as if to try and get taller, even though that wasn't their intention.They could've also joined in and became an eagle, but they honestly didn't feel like it. Their eagle form felt so boring.. It was like being kept in a box - which was ironic, seeing as people think of eagles as the exact opposite of a box and more like freedom. Well, Cornelius liked his ram form more. Plus, they could still fly in it so hah!
"Have you seen any tame animals around here?" Nyx asks. She remembers that there's no pet store and hopes for an animal to be her pet.

Ash transformed back into a human, a small smile on her lips. "Great! You could join us if you'd like, I don't have a problem with it." She shrugged, glancing back at her acquaintances. Her hand flew up to her charm, but she stopped. "I can see if Phantom can sniff out a certain breed, if you have an animal in mind."
"Thanks, but I'm just looking," says Nyx. She walks into the glen, surprised to see so many animals.
Ash followed, wearily stepping into the forest. She wanted to change into a wolf, but didn't. She wouldn't really be able to help Nyx if she couldn't speak.
Nyx looked around. All the animals didn't look interested in her, except a cute fox wandering around, looking lost. He went over to Nyx and curled up at her feet. "Aw, looks like he likes me," says Nyx.
"You like me, huh," says Nyx. "I'm going to name you... Floof." Nyx smiles and scoops Floof up. "Thanks, guys."
"Floof," Ash smiled, releasing Phantom. She stroked his thick fur, nodding. "I'm glad you found a pet. I could possibly make him into a charm..? Only if you'd like, though. I promise, making them into a charm doesn't hurt, just maybe slight uncomfort when they first change."
"Um, sure, if Floof is good with it." Nyx smiles when Floof nods. "Go ahead."
Cornelius stares at Floof with great anticipation. They were entranced, distracted by the cute appearance of the fox. What sound do foxes make? They yip, right? Thoughts whirred through Cornelius' head, making them zone out. Their eyes became a bit foggy, and they weren't focusing."C'mon out, I won't hurt you," said the boy, his backpack still slung over his shoulder. His hair was brown like chocolate and his eyes were dusty gold. He was a bit lanky, and because of the winter, his cheeks flushed pink. His name was Ian Randolf. A creamy yellow scarf wrapped around his neck and blew a bit in the wind. He held out a chunk of cornbread to something underneath his backyard wooden porch. "It's good, I promise. Mom makes it every year."
A small pale hand reached out, taking the bread tentatively. It was warm, and the smooth butter smeared on it smelled heavenly. The bread was lifted to the lips, and eaten more quickly than the boy had ever seen anybody eat.
"Doesn't your Mom make cornbread?" Ian asked. A feeling of sadness washed over the other, and they shook their head slightly. No, mama never made any cornbread. She never made anything.
Cornelius blinked for a moment, zoning back in. They registered the people around them, and the fox that was being held. For some odd reason, they felt sad. Like they had just lost something. But as quickly as the memory popped up, it had dissipated.
Nyx glanced at Cornelius. "Are you okay?"
Cornelius smiled happily and nodded. They couldn't remember the memory anymore. They just remembered sadness. It wasn't as vivid as it was before. Hugging their stuffie close to them and cuddling it, they softly touched the faded yellow scarf around their neck. They wore it everywhere, it didn't matter the season. Where did it come from again?The scarf had lost its smooth texture, and now was a bit more scratchy. The color faded out too, and the ends were frayed, strings constantly falling off of it. Near the end of the scarf was a stitched ram, that looked similar to Bowie. Cornelius had no idea how to sew, so who made it?
Floof nudged her hand. "I think we're ready," says Nyx.
"So, how does it work?" Nyx aks, a bit nervous.
((Sorry, got busy))"Oh, it's quite simple. I just need some cooperation from Floof." She glanced at the little creature in Nyx's arms. "Basically, Floof needs to get inside his head. I mean, he needs to be entirely concentrated inside his mind. Completely unaware of the physical world around him." She waited for Floof to respond.
Floof nodded so fiercely that he tumbled to the ground. He concentrated. Nyx watched him.

"Okay," Ash whispered, "Here comes the tricky part." She knelt beside Floof, gently placed her palm on his fuzzy forehead. She closed her eyes, and after a minute, Floof shrunk into a small charm that looked just like him! "There," she said. "I just had to imagine him in a safe, well-taken care of clearing and he just popped into that place. Now, he can comfortably live in his imaginary clearing until you want to let his out.
"Wow, that's amazing! Thank you so much!" Nyx tapped the charm and Floof appeared out of nowhere, looking confused.
"My pleasure," she smiled, tapping Phantom back into charm form, then back. She laughed at Floof's expression, "You'll get used to it soon, buddy."
Floof smiled and yipped. "Thanks, guys!" Nyx said, smiling. Floof wasn't exactly Noro, but he didn't need to be. He was perfectly, Floofily, Floof.
"I'm happy to have helped," Ashina smiled, crouching down and throwing her arm over Phantom's thick, muscled shoulders. "Everyone deserves a companion. So, Cornelius, would you like a pet? There's plenty to choose from in the glen." She asked kindly.
Nyx smiles. She sees a couple of rams. She knows Cornelius would love that.
"What do you say, Cornelius? I'm happy to make another charm, if you'd like."
Cornelius stared with wide eyes. They gazed at the rams longingly, but then dropped their eyes to Bowie, who they held tightly in their arms. Bowie, who had kept them company even when they were sad and felt like everyone had abandoned them. Why would they replace such a wonderful ram for any other one? Bowie was a one of a kind.Cornelius smiled lightly, but shook their head. They held out the stuffed ram for them to look at. "I have Bowie. I don't need anyone else," they said happily, then squeezing the stuffed animal to their chest. Plus, Bowie would be sad if Cornelius just suddenly replaced him.
"Okay," Ash nodded, glancing back at the glen. "I'm glad you have Bowie," she said softly, her fingers curling into her wolf's thick, raven-black fur.
Nyx smiled again. "Thanks, guys, you really made my day."
Ash smiled up at her from her crouch on the ground. "I'm happy that you found Floof."
"What should we do now? Explore the academy?" Nyx said.
"We can," she shrugged, calling Phantom back into charm form. "I'm fine with that." She glanced around, looking at her acquaintances.
"Where should we start?" Nyx wonders out loud.
"Should we explore the rest of the grounds? Just while we're out here?"
"Sure! I've already been to the creek." Nyx says. She taps Floof on the nose and puts his charm on a piece of string. She puts that around her neck.
Cornelius smiled happily, their eyes sparkling a bit. "Oki doki! Let's go!" they said a bit loudly, pointing to a random direction. They felt like jumping up and down with excitement. Exploring! They loved exploring! They paused. Come to think of it, they loved a lot of things. Happiness was one of the only emotions they were okay with expressing. What were they like before? They didn't know. They couldn't remember anything past their first year at the academy.
Nyx walked in the direction that Cornelius pointed at.
Ash followed, changing into a wolf and she trotted behind Nyx.
Nyx watched Cornelius, Penelope, Flynn, and Ash, wondering how in just a day, she had ended up with so many great friends. She chuckled to herself, remembering when she had tried to get rid of Ash in the library.
Ashina flicked her tail, walking alongside Nyx, and changed back into a human. "Hey, I really enjoyed helping you find Floof today. Actually, you've been the first one in this Academy who's really been nice to me."
"Thanks! I'm sorry if no one else has been nice, but I'm sure others will be kind to you." Nyx smiled at her. She glanced down at her necklace.
Cornelius blinked, glancing between the two, their pace a bit quick. "Why wasn't anybody nice?" they asked, cocking their head. Their fingers pulled lightly on the frayed strands of their scarf, and they swung Bowie gently by their side as they walked."Why aren't you being good?" asked a tall man, his beard unshaven and his glasses slightly crooked. He was sweating, like he'd been fighting.
Someone's face was slammed against a hard wooden table, the cool feeling shocking to the person. A fist was tangled in their hair. Fingers dug into their scalp. What was happening?
Cornelius blinked, the vision gone once more. Today was terrible. They'd gotten visions before, but not this frequently. And not this confusing. They shook their head, as if to get rid of the thoughts.
