TART Challenge - Round 5 - Chase the Rainbow (9)

.id have been well impressed if that had worked for lemon drop as well. 😄"
Yeah, but I don't think that I could have sold it as a standalone read. I'm not persuasive enough with my argumentations. 😂😂

I'm not done with my task 10 yet, hopefully I'll finish it tonight.

Here is your next task!
Task 11 - 63. Read a minimum of 1200 pages in books tagged 'magic' or 'magical'.
Books selected for this task need to be tagged 'magic' or 'magical'. Qualification can come from tags/shelves only. Variations of the words and combo tags will be allowed in context. Please include a link to the top shelves page with your qualifying tag along with how many tags and the top shelves page number in your completion posts. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count.

Adorable!
I love Jacob Flores writing YA, and these are such great characters! He builds a complex and interesting world here, and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Book 1

White Trash Warlock by David R. Slayton
322 Pages
How it qualifies: MPG Magic
Date Read: 5/8/2022
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Review: This is like my third time reading this book (finally going to continue on to book 2), and I still enjoyed it just as much as the first! The romance was super light, but it's got the bones to be something really good and the magical world was really interesting.
Book 2

Trailer Park Trickster by David R. Slayton
295 Pages
How it qualifies: MPG Magic

Review: THAT ENDING! Ugh I can't believe I have to wait for the next one. I'm very happy we got Vic's point of view, but I really wish there was more of Adam and Vic together. We finally found out who the Warlock is and he's the WORST. I'm having a hard time writing a review, I just want the last book so bad.

Review:
Well, knowing the story already and reading it now with adjusted expectations, I must say I enjoyed it more than the first time around. Lots of love and magic, and sometimes that's just what one needs. 😉

Task 12 - 62. Read a minimum of 1000 pages in books written by an author whose first or last name begins with the first letter of a teammate's screen name.
Books selected for this task need to be written by an author whose first or last name starts with the first letter of a teammate's screen name. Do not use your own screen name for this task. Please include the matching teammate's name in your completion posts. This is not a team decision. Remember to use the first edition Kindle page count.
So Janeylou could read books by an author whose first or last name begins with A, C or T. And Caipi could read books by an author whose first or last name begins with J, A or T. And so on for the others.

The Barkeep and the Bro by A.J. Truman
293 Pages
How it fits: Author Last Name Starts With T/Trio
Date Read: 5/10/2022
Rating: 4 Stars
Review: I think this series just gets better with each book! I can't believe it's the first series I've picked up by Truman as his writing just absolutely clicks with me. It's the perfect blend of wit, humor, feelings, and just everything I'm looking for in a contemporary romance. If you're a fan of age gaps, grumpy/sunshine dynamics, bi-awakenings (without freak outs!!!) and low angst, this is a great one to pick up. There's a lot of character growth, and a sugary sweet ending that just left me with a smile. Definitely excited for the spin off series!

Liars by Lucy Lennox and May Archer
Pages: 330
How it qualifies: Author's last name begins with A like Amanda
Read: May 11th
Rating: 3.5 stars
Review:
As usual with books written by Lucy Lennox (I don't know about May Archer's) there are quite some funny moments which I greatly enjoyed. The characters, main as well as secondary, are all delightful. Now the romance itself, it is good but I honestly wish Diesel and Parrish would have been open to each other about their background, feelings and wishes way earlier.
The little town the story is set in, is a special one. Their festivals for sure one of a kind!
Looking forward now to Dunn and Tucker's book.

Cowboys Don't Samba by Tara Lain

I popped in briefely yesterday morning, and other than this completion, I haven't been on the computer since! Hahaha, I'm so far behind now.
I did have a nice Mothers Day though, just busy.
Too bad it isn't titles... I've got something due tomorrow that I haven't started yet, but it won't work here. I'll put up my post so you can link it, but I'll have to see what else might work. J, C, or A.... hum.

Arctic Heat by Annabeth Albert
368 pages
How it Fits: Author's Name: Annabeth Albert / Amanda
Read: 12 May
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Review: Wow, talk about forced proximity romances, this one should get an award. Annabeth Albert makes the most of squeezing these two men together to see how they survive.
Quill has a lot of growing to do, getting past his issues and insecurities. And Owen's patience is commendable. All the extra things Owen does to make their little life together special, it just warmed my heart.
Lotsa romancin' in Arctic Heat... well they do have all that alone time xo.
Iggy Toma delivers a wonderful performance.

do you ask for US codes or UK?

do you ask for US codes or UK?"
UK. I feel like there is no shot at US codes lol

I'll finish by tonight, and I'll check us in when I'm done.
