Brand is a gator shifter who was changed to a dragon shifter by his experimenting uncle. Stuck between forms, he believes he's doomed to the life of a monster until he meets Aimi. Aimi and her crazy family help Brand realize that he can shift between forms and that to truly become the dragon he has to accept that he is no longer a gator. He finally does this when Aimi is kidnapped and he has to save her.
This book was ok, but I thought some of the writing was a little cheesy. I'm not sure if I would read on in the series.

I just love Oberon the dog.
I wish I could just do a book from his point of view. they have over 5000 ratings....but they aren't long enough to qualify.

Loved it.
The world was well set up in this first book, without getting to technical.
I like the MC, and the side characters, some of them have already wormed their way into my heart, such as the old lady. But the best character hands down is Oberon.

Still love Oberon!

Had my suspicions of the guilty party fairly early on. Still a good story with interesting side characters. Didn't feel any romance between Perry and Nick, seemed more of a convenience thing. One day I might get around to reading book 2.

I loved everything about this book. It’s rare that instalove is believable for me but this was done so well that I just couldn’t get enough of these two MCs. There was a lot going on with the second dart characters and the family drama but I thought it all worked. I’m excited to read the rest of the series.

I really loved this.
When Ian was gone, I was wondering how the heck this was going to work, when he wasn't in the story to start up a romance. But I enjoyed the portion while he was gone also. I absolutely adored the story of how Miro met Janet. That was great.
A little over 1/2 way through, I had resigned myself to this ending up with a last min deflowering book.
But I was wrong. Once Ian returned the relationship moved very quickly, with a little shoot'em up action thrown in for good measure. But WHOOOOO, those first love scenes were hot.
Ian was all on board pretty quick, for someone who associated himself as strait...but hey, I can't complain about missing the self doubt. I was happy to skip over it.
It may have been a little beyond belief, but it was a fun book, with a couple of steamy scenes.
Very enjoyable, without being drawn out or intense.
Note: I hope those boys get some good life insurance...they sure get banged up a lot.
Nice for a fun fluffy ride.

Re-read
Is it wrong that I loved seeing Sam, without getting annoyed by Jory?
I needed a re-fresher. I want to read book 3, but couldn't remember enough about books 1-2 to able to fully enjoy it.
A lot of shoot 'em up action. Dang, Miro is a bullet magnet. I did pause a little on building a fire. I would think that they wouldn't want to draw attention to themselves.
I enjoyed this a lot. I loved how shocked Miro was at seeing Sam with Jory.
I still think Ian was a little fast at accepting his feelings, since he associated himself with being strait. But this time I felt like he had been considering his feelings for a long time. It wasn't like a switch was flipped.

This is possibly my favorite Mary Calmes series, and the reason I continue to try new series by her.
It was nice to see Sam.
Miro is something else. Once again I was disappointed when Ian left, but I quickly got over it because Miro was entertaining all on his own.
Loved the boys.
I've forgotten so many details about this series, I'm looking forward to continuing on.

This was a re-read for me. I read 4 books of the series and stopped. After re-reading the first two I'm not sure why I stopped. I think I'll try to finish the whole series this time. I love the story of Damien. I can't understand how people can treat their kids like Damien was. Whet is going on in the brains of these people? Maybe it is a malfunction of the brain.

Read basically in one sitting. Definitely not a book that all can enjoy, please take heed of the warnings. Like that the author showed fully the conflict that Ryker/Ryan felt. Thought it bad that Creed's Mum and grandparents were such a***h***s and basically abused him. Pleased that Creed found a great friend in Toby.

It wasn't poorly written or anything. It just wasn't for me.
It's a whole lot of sex, which is fine, I love some good sex scenes.
But I never connected with the characters.
Tucker was kinda an ass and a whore.
He had multiple (unknown how many, there were so many) kids, that he just had nothing to do with. I didn't care for Patch much either.

I love this series and this was one of my favorites so far. I knew nothing about murder ball and after googling it- wow it’s intense. I loved both MCs and while I’m not a fan of books that center around homophobic families, this book handled it well with the secondary character and estranged father. Trigger warning for physical abuse to a secondary characters.

Pure entertainment. Love reading about these guys. This book is one of the best as we get to see all the guys and hear from not just Steele and Tech but also God and Day.

I went to see Shinedown a few years ago, and it was standing only.
I went to the front and held on to the fence for dear life. Before the end my hubby was holding me upright because I would have collapsed without him. I felt so old.

Yes like that. But I'm proud that I got throu it. A few weeks earlier and I wouldn't have. My achilles heel inflammation is so much better now. Still there so I have to be careful but I'm nearly free of pain and have a much better range of things I can do. Now I only need to not catch covid so I can go to Five Finger Death Punch on the 15th. There I'll have a seat. 😃

Finally I got around to read the second book of the series after reading the first on repeatedly. TY and Zane are two strong characters with a lot or vulnerability. I honestly don't know how they can function as a couple.

Task 19 - 62. Read a minimum of 1000 pages in books written by an author whose first or last name begins with the first letter of a teammate's screen name.
Books selected for this task need to be written by an author whose first or last name starts with the first letter of a teammate's screen name. Do not use your own screen name for this task. I enjoyed the story and the MCs, but this wasn't the best in the genera as far as daddy kink goes. Riley is a 21 year old college drop out when his father makes him work on the family ranch as a last resort before cutting him off. Riley's father doesn't believe he can accomplish anything and is constantly putting Riley down. Riley has had a crush on Blake since he was a kid and now has to learn directly from the man who is 17 years older than him in order to get his inheritance. Blake quickly becomes Riley's daddy while teaching Riley everything he knows about running his father's ranch. This relationship was mutual and handled in a responsible, safe manor. The ending was super sweet.

I nearly forgot all about this book from the last time I read it til now. I like Forest and I like Conner. And I like that he is secure enough in himself to accept the change in his perspective and his life. I wish a lot more people were like that. The world would be a better place.

Easy reading. About time Ruxs and Green admitted what was between them. Not sure that I would continue helping out my mother if she treated me like that. Fingers crossed that rehab works this time.

I'll be done today. I gotta get a move on, I forgot about the buddy read starting today.

Every book, is just better and better.
Ty and Zane are in love, and finally completely comfortable with themselves and each other.
Now...the families find out.
Most of the reactions were positive, but not all.
It was nice to see Zane's family finally.
His mother needs a smack upside the head.
Loved the story. Adored Ty and all the felines.
This is just a great series overall.

I still love this series. This is one of my favorites in the series. They are much more open with each other. There are a lot of funny moments. I still get a kick out of Ty and the tiger.
My only complaint, is I'm getting to close to the end of this series-again.

re-read 5/17/18

“She told me to wait, that I was going to lose a finger.” Earl looked toward the kitchen and then back at Ty and Deuce. He snorted. “I asked her, did she think I was stupid? Then a couple snips later, whack. Off went the finger. And you know what that woman said to me? I said, ‘Mara, you cut my finger off.’ And your mother said to me, ‘Well, Earl, who’s stupid now?’”
That line still cracks me up. I don't think I'll ever be able to re-read without getting a chuckle right there.
Still loved the book.
