completion post Task 3 - 12. Read a book recommended to you by a teammate - no pass for this taskZero at the Bone 308 pg

There was a lot to enjoy in this book.
D started off very closed off. Hey, he was an assassin, he's not going to be an open book, overflowing with feels. I enjoyed him opening up, and falling for Jack.
I liked Jack, and that he didn't just let D roll right over him.
The story did drag at points. About the time I'd think it was never going to end, something would happen, and it would pick back up.
Overall, I thought it was a pretty enjoyable story.

fixed, sorry I'm not used to the first edition rule.

Changed my mind, hopefully this alternative cover for
will count for night sky.About to start this for Uno so hope it is good enough. Great series, absolutely loved the first book and the second has started really well. A great fantasy series.

Ashley please copy your post and post it new as Kat doesn't have the time searching for your old post.
I will drive home today. Will be about 9 h on the road with a break at my daughters. So I will have to look tomorrow for a book. Sorry for the delay.

Sorry, I'm not totally clear on this one. I updated the page count to 265. Do you want me to repost it too? Just want to make sure before I do it.

Ashley, Mountainkat would like you to repost your completion post with the updated page count. Just copy and paste, change the page count and put "REPOST" on top. We had to do this for the bachelor challenge when we got the page count wrong.

I loved everything about this book until the abrupt ending that basically shattered me. I now HAVE to read the next one, which is perhaps the authors’ point, but still! I was not prepared. I liked both MCs, loved that they are a bit older and come with some baggage.

This book laid a lot of groundwork for the series but overall wasn’t particularly noteworthy. I didn’t hate it but even at 158 pages I was ready for it to end.

For a stand alone, this was better than I was expecting...but I can't imagine it holding up to a series. Not a lot of plot.
But interesting.

Loved it!! The world building is brilliant and I feel as if I am there, in the inn watching everything unfold. I was irritated that RL intervened and I couldn't binge read this as I wanted.
Highly recommended.
I'm working my way through the threads getting the tracking posts updated and checking in with the teams while I'm doing that.Just a comment on the page count... I don't care about the link, I will be checking the editions page anyway unless the book is labeled as a Kindle first edition. I just want the page count correct. This is what I am looking for:
If your page count comes from a Kindle edition published on the initial publication date on the editions page, it will count. If your page count comes from a Kindle edition labeled '1st edition', it will count. If your page count comes from the earliest dated English language Kindle edition, it will count. I am looking for one of those three things when confirming your books! As long the page count you list is correct, I will accept any link to the book. Ebook page count will be acceptable if no Kindle page count available. The acceptability of other page counts will be made on an individual basis.
If there are multiple editions with the initial or earliest publication date, you are free to use any of them. 😊
As for reposting, I am not as strict about that in this challenge but ask for it anyway. My fingers almost type that by themselves! 😂 I have to be strict about it in Bachelor because all the teams run on the same time schedule and going backwards in threads to find corrections would take me forever!! Time I just don't have in that challenge.
Just to let you know I'm reading Zero at the Bone for night sky. Have had a nasty headache over the last two days and a lot of work kn my desk so am slow with reading. Sorry to be the stopper again.

I love this book but reading it this time was kind of a chore. Don't know why it was so dragging. At the halfway point I was ready for the book to end. Don't think it has to do with the book. It's more a matter of my state of mind. So if I feel better I will revisit the book.
Here is your next task!Task 5 - 23. Each teammate reads a book that has been read by one of the RRRC moderators. No pass for this task.
To qualify for this task, the selected books need to be marked as read by one of the RRRC moderators. There is no date requirement for this task, but the selected book must be marked as read and rated. Please include a link to the moderator's review or read shelf in your completion posts. To make your searching easier - Fran, Jane, Karen and I all read MM Romance, but Jane reads MM exclusively. Fran, Karen and I read both MF and MM.
Fran's profile is private, but I'm sure she will accept any friend requests. 😊

Straight on to Bk2. A great story that shows the struggle that comes with a brain injury.Sometimes hard for people to understand as the injury isn't on the outside.

Review:
This was the first book I've read where both MCs are ace. I really enjoyed both Vic and Dom and the sweet relationship they have. We get to see them realize their feelings are more than friendship as they attend 3 weddings as fake boyfriends. I also appreciated how the author subtly includes some thought provoking questions around how we define happiness. Vic's mother is pushing him to get married because she wants him to be happy, but isn't it enough that he got out of a bad relationship and is now happy. This was a fast read and I thought it was a nice friends to husbands story.

I love any chance to read about Victor.
This book is a new beginning. Victor is now with the FPMP. He's free to be open about his relationship with Jacob. Hiding how much he see's or how powerful he really is, is second nature by this point, but the people he works with now can handle it a lot better.
Things feel different. Victor is more secure. He's accepting himself more. A little change up in the side characters. Some I like, some I don't care one way or the other. Love Crash, don't ever get rid of Crash! But Ash was the only character that felt off. I don't know how I feel about him. I miss a couple of the missing side characters. It feels like this is the just the starting point of a whole new arch.
Victor and his phone cracked me up. I like the idea of Victor finally having a memory of a positive figure in his past.

I was a bit sceptic about this book. The cover isn´t one I would normally go for. It looks to cheesy. But I was positive surprised. Xander is a guy I would like to meet. And I would like to strangle, quarter and feather the choach.
The end came to abrubt for me. I could have read on a bit more.
