Kafka on the Shore

Haven’t read that one yet but have been impressed by some of his other books particularly the Windup Bird Chronicles. A bit trippy in parts but very gripping.

As a fan of "any Murakami really."
Its is hard for me to not recommend K on the S. It is high on my list.
OTOH you seem predisposed to not like. This author is hardly one to start with a negative attitude and this one in partic may be everythign you dislike about these books.
