Pure entertainment. Love reading about these guys. This book is one of the best as we get to see all the guys and hear from not just Steele and Tech but also God and Day.

Week #10

Option 1: Read a book with a 9 in the page numbers.
Bookcover/link: Madison Square Murders by C.S. Poe
Finished: 6/6
Rating: 4 stars
Review: I enjoyed this book. I hate cheating, but I don't feel that there was cheating going on. Larkin & his husband Noah are having major issues. Larkin issues with his short term memory and has several triggers that transport him back to the night when he was attacked and someone he cared about was killed. Noah just doesn't seem to understand or really care about what Larkin is going through. He has a tendency to turn everything around & make it Larkin's fault. I just don't understand why he doesn't divorce him as their marriage is so miserable. The only thing that happens between our MC's is they do kiss. And I'm glad they don't have actual sex as he is still married. I so can't wait for the next book in this series.

The Nullifier (The Criminals, #1) by Erin M. Leaf
Review: It was enjoyable but I felt that everything happened so fast. From the moment Nick and Felix meet it seemed like something was always going on, either externally or between them. This was good at the beginning but then it felt a bit rushed. I also liked Nick's sister and wished things had ended differently for her. The character of Zero was intriguing. I would've liked more background story about the bad guys.

Review: I didn't find this book as engaging as the previous book in the series, but it was still good. I think once the audiobook comes out I may upgrade my rating (that often helps me get into books more). I like that it was very low-angst and there wasn't a lot of drama around Aaron's bi-awakening (which actually really works in tis series, since most of his closest friends are gay or bi). I also like seeing the friendship relationships in all of these books - it's a great dynamic.

Diane Dannenfeldt | 815 comments Jane posted the following: I'll announce the final theme for this round in 14 hours ~ 4.30pm US EST.

(That time is 6.30am in mid-winter for me, with frosts in a poorly insulated cottage 🥶🥶)

If a selection post from week 10 is still missing when I go through the threads after the announcement, then the team will be automatically out.

If you use Option 2, you must pick from the team that I allocate out in the last task announcement post. A list will be provided in the final task allocation.

The team member whose shelves you choose from, must be a current member of the team. I have removed all team members that have stopped playing from message 1 in each applicable thread, so if you are using this option please double-check that your selected team member is current.

The pass option is not available in this final week.

In case the final tasks requires books from stated lists, please make sure you check the outstanding tasks... You can add books to the lists (ensuring that they qualify first) right up until I announce the new theme.

Finally, I will not be notifying the teams if their posts are not correct. Please check your own team members to make sure they meet the requirements for both selection and completion posts. Until all posts are correct, you cannot claim a win

So let’s be ready :D

Unwrapping Hank (Unwrapping Hank, #1) by Eli Easton
Review: Very cute characters, the story is set on a farm during the college winter break. Hank and Sloane are very different but they match. I really wanted more of them actually together or a longer story. Hank’s brother Micah was great. I loved the farm setting, Hank's hippy parents made me laugh, and I especially loved the Christmas vibe. I think the dual POV helped a lot, especially in Hank’s case. Overall, it was sweet with some funny interactions.

Review: This was really good. Not sure what took me so long to get started on this series. I love alternating POV & am glad that the author decided to change it from just Ethan to Jacks as well. Ethan is Jack's lead secret service detailer & their first rule is that they don't get close to their protectees. But Ethan can't help himself, he is drawn to Jack. Jack is a widower, his wife having died while deployed. So he is all alone in the White House. I enjoyed watching these two become friends & just working out together, playing pool or just catching a ball game with a couple of beers. All this time Ethan is falling more & more for Jack. What Jack doesn't realize, he is falling for Ethan. Until something happens while away at a summit, he doesn't understand what his feelings really mean. I loved that they then take it very slow, and I mean slow. Ethan lets Jack set the pace and we really get to see these two fall in deeper in love. I have to say that I knew who the traitor was from the first time they stepped foot on page. Nothing was very obvious, but there was just something about them that was off to me.

Diane Dannenfeldt | 815 comments F we just need you pick & post your completion & we got this! As soon as you post your review, go to the thread where Jane posts the picks & let her know that our team is finished, if you post when I'm not on. I think we are the only team that didn't have any past outstanding reads. So we have an excellent chance of winning this :)

A cute, low angst, easy reading story. Heath and Declan are besties when Heath asks Declan to pretend they are in a relationship to get back at Alison, Heath's ex. However Heath soon discovers he likes kissing Declan and having sex. So perhaps this thing is actually real?
