Short read but good. This is a story in a small town about booksellers and a farmer. Harrison just moved into town with his mom who inherited this bookstore. He doesn't want to be in a relationship because he won't want to hurt them if he dies pretty young. It will be explained exactly why in the book I don't want to spoil it for you. Finn is a farmer who doesn't want to fall for Harrison bc he doesn't want to be abandoned again by someone who is rich and from the big city. So because they were so attracted to each other they chose to be friends with benefits and end ups in love. There are moments when they are insecure because of their fears and that hurts their relationship but they work it over. They were so cute and the romance was just great.
Did I mention that Harrison has an asexual bisexual mother?

I love this series. This is the most recent book in the series. So rare for me to catch up to the series but with this one it happened. Because this is a historical romance who have powerful independent women who are working and all books have an Arabic rep. In the first two books are female areb rep but in this one male lead is half Arabic. He is a marquess who doesn't like noble and people don't know anything about him. They think he has a harem of women which is not true. He is really down to earth and is really respectful. So because he was kind of cheth of some of his lands by this well know mapmaker he chose to be his footman and found his secret and get back what he needs. He ends up being Rose's footman who is actually a mapmaker but everybody thinks it is her husband because how can a woman make these stunning and well-made maps. She is a good woman but in an unhappy marriage and her husband doesn't respect her and he wants to be one of the ton even though they are just normal people and spend money on something which is unesesery while his servant eath so little and tea is made by already used leaves. I did like Rose and Brandon's connection and how things happened. He did say at the beginning that he would marry the last season diamond to rub it off on ton but he end up falling to married woman what a scandal.

A quick read. Not as enthralling as the first book, perhaps because the characters are known to me now. Loved that part of the book was set in New Zealand. Definitely in the fantasy realm really. Can't see people getting shot in a main railway Station in Kyoto and the cops not being involved. Still enjoying the story. Have Bk3 to read now.

Review: This is a PNR between a twink vampire (Harvey Feng) and a Hungarian vampire slayer (Gabe) who only kills really bad vampires. I loved both Gabe and Harvey. I thought for some reason this book was going to be heavy on the drama, but it was quite the opposite. It’s divided into three mini-stories with the same quirky characters but different mysteries and lots of action. The relationship between Gabe and Harvey develops slowly as they follow clues and catch the bad guys. I found them endearing and very funny.

Review: Though I liked each character separately, I didn't necessarily like them as a permanent couple. So Kenta has basically stopped going out into the world or having anyone enter his after his former lover left him & married a woman. Akira is dealing with the loss of his lover, but in a totally different way. Akria responds to Kenta's home when his internet is out & he is the first person in his space from a long time. Appears that his apartment is a mess & try's to clean up real quick, but to no avail. And even though he is a hot mess, Akria is attracted to him. Slowly Akria pulls Kenta back into the real world. I didn't feel the hot attraction between them. The ending also felt rushed.

Review: I like the set-up for the book, but I didn't really feel connected to the characters and didn't really see their connection to each other either - it seemed a bit shallow (or at least not deep). I also didn't realize from the blurb how young they were (18 and 21), I think the story actually fits their age, but I prefer slightly more mature characters usually.
Overall it was an enjoyable read, but not a particularly memorable one.

Merry Elf-ing Christmas by Beth Bolden
Review:
There's a lot of fantasy and tons of descriptions of the North Pole and how everything works to prepare for Christmas eve. I found it original, the lives of the different elves were interesting, and I think Sam (Santa) was my favorite character. Aidan and Dex were cute overall, but for some reason I pictured them more as friends rather than lovers. I also missed the reindeers on the magical sleigh. The ending was adorable and just as I'd hoped.

Review: I loved seeing things from Bone's POV. I initially purchased the audiobook & did not like the narrator at all. When you listen to a series and know who is who just by the voices and then a new narrator comes along it just doesn't work. So I returned the audiobook & then purchased & read the book. Things follow the original first book, with a few tweaks, but we get to see what Bones was feeling/thinking.

You'll have to let me know if it is, i haven't read that series. I can't make myself read stories with amnesia plotlines, they've become a pet peeve, or evil twins. I think its because my mom watched soap operas when i was a kid :)

Review: I was a bit confused at the beginning as the characters explain a spell that went wrong. It took me a while to catch up and understand what was going on. The romance between Bartholomew and Lachlan was fast; even though they'd liked each other from afar, the love declarations happen in one day. The rest of the coven members were interesting but there were some unresolved issues regarding two coven members, which I assume will be cleared up in a later book.

A delightful read with a bit of humour and little angst. A story about Sophia, a soon to be 60 year old, who has ditched her married lover and gone to Rhodes for a month. While in Rhodes she meets "the old ducks" who have rented next door for a fortnight. The 3 "old ducks" welcome Sophia into their ranks and proceed to help her open her eyes to what her future could be. In between drinks, shopping, dips in the hottub, shenanigans at a nightclub and touring, Sophia meets Theo their landlord. When Lucian, the ex married lover turns up on her doorstep, one wonders if Sophia will cave. But like all romances, love wins out.
I really enjoyed reading this and will have to look out for more like it.

Diane Dannenfeldt | 815 comments FYI guys, there is no need to repost corrections. Just edit the original post. The only time you need to make a new post is if you change what book you are reading.

Thanks & have a great rest of your week!!!
