The hallways, staircases, and corridors.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 3011 comments Xander was strolling through the hallway, on his way to speak to his mother. He had originally left to find ______ (insert name), but had no idea where she could be in the huge castle. And there was the possibility of her being on the palace grounds outside, as well. Xander sighed as his thoughts turned from _____ to the selection. He was going to lose his best friend in a week. How was that glib to feel? Obviously not good. But Oliver would be fine. He'd be too busy trying to find his wife in the selection of girls.

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (summerrain15) (Her name is Astrid Ellinor Franzen but she goes by Elli.) Astrid had woken up early that morning, as she did every morning. The blonde was dressed in a pink, short, but professional dress, her hair in a long, sleek ponytail. She was deep in her thoughts, hurrying up the stairs, turning into the hallway, when she looked up to see Xander, the middle prince. Immediately her heart skipped a beat. The two had been lightly flirting ever since she'd gotten the advisor position. She wasn't sure what drew her to the prince. Maybe it was the thrill, knowing their relationship wouldn't be allowed. Maybe it was exciting because he was younger than her, or because she was a sexual being that thought he was cute. For whatever reason, she liked him, and had hoped he'd make a move, but he didn't seem to be willing to. Perhaps today she'd be the one to make move. Even so, as she walked down the hall towards him, she smiled. "Good Morning, my prince." She greeted formally, as she normally did. She had some books in her arms, held against her chest, and she was wearing tall heels. As always, the Swedish advisor was very pretty.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 3011 comments ((Oh, okay, thanks! Sorry my posts are so short :/))

Pulled from his thoughts, Xander heard Astrid speak. He smiled over at her as she walked up to him. "Oh! Um, hello. Sorry, I was kind of…uh, thinking about the selection." Xander sighed. Why was he such an idiot? He couldn't even talk to her without stumbling over his words. She looked absolutely gorgeous, as usual though, so it was hard not to. "Sorry, excuse me. Good morning, Astrid. How have you been today?"

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (summerrain15) (It's okay. :) ) He was especially cute when he stumbled over his words. Astrid couldn't help but smile back at him. "Oh, business as usual. You?" She asked him, when she noticed he had a little syrup from breakfast on his cheek. Taking an intimately closer step, she raised her hand to cup his cheek, her thumb rubbing at the syrup. Her eyes on his the entire time, still smiling. Oh, she knew what she was doing. She knew much too well.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 3011 comments Xander smiled. "Not much. Just…oh, um...just the selection and such." He blushed again when she put her hand on his cheek to wipe off whatever had been on there. Or hadn't been on there. Once more, only the very tips of his ears turning a slight red.
((Sorry, didn't know what else to write XD)(

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (summerrain15) Apparently he wasn't going to make a move. Well, sometimes a confident, bold woman had to make her own move, even against a prince. She gazed at him a moment before she leaned closer, her lips connecting with his. The kiss was simple, but short, a friendly tease as if to say, 'Your choice, forget about it or kiss me more in the future'. Still, moments later she pulled away, smiling, her cheeks slightly pink. "So... I'm sure you have things to do. I'll see you around?" She asked, planning on just leaving him reeling.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 3011 comments Xander was almost completely shocked. Not entirely-they had been flirting, somewhat, anyway. But still. He kissed her back, only for a second before she pulled away and seemed to leave him there. Obviously, he didn't want her to leave. But that was her point, Xander could see it, yet his stupid inability to speak at the moment left him standing there like a complete idiot. "Um, well, not completely. I mean, I don't really have much planned, I guess…" Xander said, entirely forgetting about his riding plans with Oli.

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (summerrain15) Astrid bit her lip, almost in a flirty way. "Well I guess all that free time will leave you daydreaming about me." She reached up, running her fingers through his dark, curly hair. "Kissing girls in hallways. So scandalous. Didn't know you had it in you, prince Xander." She acted like it was him who kissed her, but this was all in her plan. "How about meeting me somewhere a little more private, later?" She usually wasn't this bold. But she was in a mood, and tired of waiting. Even so, she was holding back a grin, her eyes shining as she gazed at him. Was she really setting up a date with the prince? Yes. Was her heart racing? Oh, yes.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 3011 comments Xander smiled. "Well, I might have to meet Oli in a bit," he said, remembering that they were supposed to meet. He hoped he had been delayed as well, and Xander could always be late. "And there are a lot of things you don't know about me, to be honest." Xander knew exactly what she was doing, and couldn't care less. If it was helping, then go right ahead. When she asked him about meeting more privately later, Xander grinned, his heartbeat fast. "Well, I am awfully busy…but I can fit you in somewhere," he joked. "Just let me know where and when."

((He and Oli should still go riding or something and Xander should have a huge smile on his face and Oli would just be like "whaaaaaaat is wrong with you?" XD))

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (summerrain15) ((She'd just be the same wherever she is, but I bet when they meet up later she'd freak out like, "I didn't mean to be slutty! I mean I just, I like you and I thought, how do I get the prince's attention? and then I thought, I kiss him! and then I did and I'm sorry if I came off slutty." and she'd be so worried about what he thinks of her.))

Astrid could feel the energy between them, both of them in a high mood, their hearts racing together. It was exhilarating, a strange kind of chemistry. Still, she tried to keep calm, despite being certain her grin would break her face. "Well I'm small, easily fit into places. And I'm willing to learn... so, meet me back here, tonight, around eight? plenty of time after dinner." She offered. "And until then..." Leaning forward, she cupped both his cheeks, her eyes fluttering closed as she kissed him once more, deeper this time, not as much as a first kiss, a bit more relaxed, their lips melding together. She had cherry lipgloss. When she pulled away she was smiling again, "I'll leave you that to remember me by, for the afternoon." As she heard footsteps approaching, it was like something shocked her. She released him, smiling fading, though her cheeks were even more red. Winking at him, she quickly went down the hall like nothing had happened, though anyone could tell she was a little frazzled.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 3011 comments ((AWWWW that'll be so cute, because he'll definitely be over as much of this conplete awkwardness and he will try to make her feel better and yay I can't wait!!))

"Eight o'clock sounds perfect," Xander said with sweet smile down at her. He leaned down as kissed her, his hands on her waist. Xander tasted her cherry lipgloss, and smiled more than he already was, if that was possible. He stepped back as he heard footsteps coming down the hallway, and smiled once more at her before she left. After she was gone and the guard had passed, Xander leaned back against the wall, a faint smile still on his lips. "What just happened?" He muttered to himself. They couldn't do this. It wasn't allowed. And not to mention she was three years older than him. Xander sighed and stood up straight. He had to forget about it for now and just head to meet Oli, like they had planned.

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Lucas had finished putting his masters room to rights, he had cleaned up his clothing and put things in order. Then he'd gone down to the stables to help with the horses, since Prince Xander and Prince Oliver were supposed to go riding. Half the time Lucas tagged along, at the back of course, but neither prince seemed to mind. Plus him and Xander were best friends, so it wasn't unnormal for him to be with Xander a lot of the time. Being his footman was the title but they were pretty close friends. Then after an hour passed and neither prince showed up, well Lucas had gotten worried, so here he was looking for his prince, or the other. That was when he caught sight of Xander, he went towards the young prince, with a raised brow, "Did you forget something?" He asked when he walked up.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 3011 comments Xander's head snapped towards the sound of a voice before realizing it was Lucas. "Oh, it's just you. Don't do that to people, you'll scare them to death!" he joked. Xander look at him quizzically, though, he hadn't forgotten anything. He had had a quick chat, well, sort of, with Elli, and was heading back to his room. "No, I'm not forget-oh. That, um, I am so sorry. Is Oli waiting for me?" He asked Lucas before asking another question, but mostly talking to himself. "How long did I take? It couldn't have been that long. Could it?" Either way, Xander didn't really care. He lived with Oli. He would see him soon. The thing Xander was most worried about was whether she was actually going to come tonight or not.

message 15: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Lucas grinned, well usually he wasn't the one scaring people, so it was nice to be on the opposite side of that little effect. Shy Lucas was usually the one getting nervous our scared. He watched as different emotions played over his friends face, he didn't realize that he'd left Lucas hanging for a few moments, and then it hit him. "No, your dear brother didn't show up either. I was just hanging out with the horses for an hour," Lucas fell into step with Xander, "So what kept you? Or Oliver for that matter? Did the two of you run off to do something else?" He was confused, the brothers were usually pretty much on time, and never missed these kinds of things together, so it had to of been important.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 3011 comments "Oh, okay. That's good. Well, not really, because you were waiting for us, but still kind of because he wasn't waiting too," Xander rambled on with a grin. "And uh, I don't really know what kept him. He seems to be busy with all sorts of different preparations for the selection. I wonder if I'll have to do that for mine, too, or if I would be able to have him plan everything for me." Xander laughed, though it was somewhat forced. He tried to keep the topic of the selection up so he wouldn't have to tell Lucas. Though, he would probably just follow Xander at 8 when he went to meet her anyway, so it wouldn't be much use keeping it secret for long.

message 17: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments "So what did keep you? You're kind of avoiding the question there," Lucas pointed out, realizing what Xander was doing, what had he been up to that was so bad that he didn't want Lucas knowing? He smirked, "You should definitely get Oliver to plan yours out, then you can just relax and check the girls out." Lucas was glad he would never be put under that kind of pressure, he could marry whoever he met and fell in love with, if that ever happened. He wondered what Xander would be like with a wife on his arm, would he not want Lucas around? He frowned, maybe marriage wasn't such a good thing.. then again maybe they'd both fall in love and be so occupied with girls that they wouldn't notice?

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 3011 comments Xander grinned. "I agree. I'll have Oli do all of the work, I mean, he can take a break from whatever he'll be doing then to plan mine, right? Of course. And I don't think he'd mind." Xander paused, mentally debating whether he should tell him or not. He finally sighed and moved down the hallway, away from the business of he maids, just to make sure no one else heard him. "Alright. I'll tell you, but I swear, you can't tell anyone. Promise?"

message 19: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Lucas was glad that Xander wouldn't be depending on him to help with the Selection because he was shy as it was and didn't think that he would be much help when it came to picking one girl out of thirty-five. Xander then moved them down the hallway some, making Lucas truly wonder what in the world was going on. Sure they had their secrets, but normally it wasn't anything big, this seemed big to Lucas. He rose a brow and tried not to freak out, "Uh I promise. I'm your best friend Xander, I wouldn't utter a word even if tortured, " He was looking quite serious at Prince Xander, his attitude kind of anxious about it all.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 3011 comments Xander nodded. "Good. Great…thanks." He sighed and looked around to make sure there wasn't anyone around. "Okay, so you know how I've been telling you about Elli-I mean, Astrid? Well, she sort of kissed me a few minutes ago and I'm meeting her back here at eight?" He said quickly. "I swear, don't tell anyone. If anyone finds out…well, I don't know what'll happen, but it won't be good."

((Sorry it's so short!))

message 21: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Lucas leaned against the wall, for a guy that was shy, and usually had some anxiety, well he looked pretty laid back and calm. But that, of course, was all part of the act, the one he put on for everyone so that they wouldn't know how much his nerves really got to him. With Xander he was pretty calm, but that was because they'd known each other a long time, and Xander had never ridiculed him or made him feel stupid. His jaw dropped when Xander dropped the news on him, a girl, Astrid, she'd kissed him. He was meeting her, "But," Lucas shook his head, a million things were going through his mind right then. "Xander what if your mother finds out, or someone takes a picture? There is going to be so much press here because of the selection, you gotta be careful." Lucas saw that he was maybe being way too negative, "But on the plus side, she kissed you," He grinned at Xander, not wanting him to feel too bad about it, he was a guy after all, and would have his whims before he settled down, right?

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 3011 comments Xander leaned back against the wall next to Lucas as he talked. "I know, I know. I've already been thinking about that, but I just don't know what to do about it. I've passed like, three reporters just this morning." Xander paused. "Do you think…do you think you might be able to, I don't know, maybe…maybe you could keep watch or something?" At the second comment, Xander grinned. "I know, right? That was pretty awesome."

message 23: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Three reporters? Lucas didn't think that boded as a good sign at all, but who was he to boss around the prince? Sure they were friends, but even then they had boundaries, he rose both brows as Xander tried to talk, tried to get some sort of sentence out. After a few moments he managed to say what he was trying to say, "Sure, I mean... I would rather be your lookout than you have no warning at all. I don't want you and this lady Astrid getting caught, it wouldn't be good for either of you." Lucas wasn't sure what all Prince Xander and Lady AStrid would be doing, but he didn't think anything they would be doing would be okay in the eyes of the Queen or the king, and certainly not the Dowager Queen.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 3011 comments "Thanks. I mean, obviously nothing like that is going to happen, no way. But I don't know, even if there's just a picture us kissing then the trouble I'd be in is crazy. Especially when Grandmother gets to me." Xander didn't even want to think about it. Sure, he was her favorite, but even that couldn't save him.

message 25: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments "Well your grandmother may just kill you," Lucas said bluntly, he was only speaking the truth to the prince. "But we'll make sure that nothing untoward happens to either of you, and I'm sure that Oliver would do the same thing for you," He stood, pushing himself off of the wall, "So should we head to the stables? See if your brother has made an appearance yet?" He asked, trying to keep somewhat to the schedule they had planned earlier that morning. It was never good to be too far off schedule, because then they normally didn't end up making it to meal time, and they upset the royal parents, as well as the grandmother.

ʟ ᴀ ᴜ ʀ ᴀ | 3011 comments "I wouldn't be surprised if she did." Xander laughed as he pushed off the wall as well. "Yeah, I suppose we should get there soon. We'll probably still beat Oli there, though," he said with another laugh. "Alright, lets go."

message 27: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Fern took in a deep breath, and let it out slowly, trying to slow her beating heart. An older guard passed by and she tried to smile up at him, without looking nervous or suspicious, but he ignored her completely and continued on his way out. A few maids passed by too, they gave her curious looks, and she just tried to act like hanging out in the hallway was normal. She figured they would whisper about her later no matter what she did, so why move and miss her chance? That was when he walked out, he scared her so she jumped some and sort of stumbled in his way. She caught herself just before falling and blushed profusely before looking up at him, "I'm sorry about that," She told him, then cleared her throat some, "Hi.... I don't think I've seen you around before...?" She waited for him to fill in the blank, because she didn't know his name, "Oh and I'm Fern!"

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (summerrain15) Devon was immediately bombarded by Fern the second he left the Women's room, and of course that shocked him. Had she waited for him? His dark eyes widened and he looked like a deer in the headlights, stepping back to avoid walking right into the shorter girl. He'd heard stories about the maternal cousins of the royals, but he'd never gotten to meet real royals until now. In fact, when his superior officer told him to deliver a message to the dowager queen, he almost fainted. But this girl was much different, and he'd thought she was rather cute the second he saw her. Even cuter when she blushed. Oh man, I should not be thinking like this. She's barely a teenager! And she's a royal! Admittedly, they actually weren't that far in age differences. Plenty of couples had three or more years between their ages. He was seventeen and she was... almost thirteen. So, four years? Plus he'd just turned seventeen. Not that big of a gap. He was staring at her and not answering, and finally he realized. "Oh! Um, hi... Lady Singer." He greeted, painfully formal. Idiot, idiot, idiot. His cheeks brightened with blush as he realized she wanted to know his name. "I'm Devon!" He said, a little too quickly. "Devon Paxton Becket... um, just Devon... Miss." Oh he was so awkward, amusingly so, totally not sure how to react to the young royal.

message 29: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Fern noticed the color in his cheeks, and wondered if she had caused that, or if he just naturally had pink cheeks. She held back a smile, not wanting to embarrass him. Maybe he was just hot? If so she could suggest he goes to the creek to cool off or something, her naïve mind kept her from thinking any further thoughts on the matter. "Lady Singer?" She giggled slightly and looked up at him while shaking her head slowly, "You must never call me that, it makes me sound like an old maid, and that I certainly am not." She hid her hands behind her back so that she didn't fidget, too much. "Devon? I like that name, it suits you," Fern wondered what she should talk about with him, she wasn't exactly someone that spoke to those outside her family, but with him she felt like taking a chance. "So did you just start recently?" She looked at him curiously, "A guard I mean, did you just start recently as a guard?"

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (summerrain15) Devon stared at her, blushing even more when she giggled. She's... adorable. He thought, in the most innocent of ways. "O-Okay, Fern..." He swallowed nervously, certain he was breaking all the rules by even talking to her. Although, as she gave him a question to answer, he nodded, relieved to have something to talk about that didn't make him feel awkward. "Yes La-, Fern... I started today, actually, officially. I was drafted and I was in training for about two weeks, and then they chose me to cover the palace during the Selection, though I can assume that after that I'll be sent to war." He explained, gazing at her. "Um..." He glanced around, "Won't you be missed? Your cousin's selection is starting today... surely you don't want to talk to me right now. Unless you need something, of course, I'd be happy to help. With anything." His eyes shone at the idea of helping her with anything she might need. Sure, that wasn't his job description, but when it came to pretty girls, Devon was a loyal as a puppy.

message 31: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments He said her name and Fern felt like she'd been swept away on a cloud, she was very excited to get ot know this guard more. He explained that he did indeed just recently start there at the castle, he was fresh out of training, but when he mentioned war her hands flew to her mouth in horror, her eyes were wide and she paled considerably. "No," She whispered, and grabbed hold of his arm without even thinking, her breathing was coming a little faster than normal as she tried to take it all in, she shook her head furiously, "You cannot go to war." She whispered more, tears, actual tears entered her eyes as she imagined this young man in battle, dying on a field, it was all a little much and she was kind of freaking out on him, without meaning to of course. She was just very imaginative and sensitive, so when he said that a whole war scene of him dying passed through her mind and horrified to her very core.

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (summerrain15) ((OH, sorry!)) Devon's eyes widened at her sudden change in emotion. He hadn't had someone care that much in a very long time, and it shocked him. Kneeling in front of her he gently put his hands on her arms. "Hey... Don't cry. Please don't cry, you're too pretty to cry." He whispered, staring at her. "I'm right here, I'm not in any war. I'm a guard, and a soldier, and that is a dangerous job, but I'm alive right now, okay?" He was inexplainably touched that she cared that much, this beautiful girl he had just met with such a big heart. Rising to his feet, he smiled at her, "Okay? You're okay, I'm okay. And, hey, doesn't your cousin's first selection dinner start soon? Let's go there." He held his arm out to her, "I'll escort you, m'lady, if you'll let me."

message 33: by Leena (new)

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments A few of the tears made tracks down her cheeks as she looked at Devon, he kneeled down and spoke to her, Fern paid attention to his words, and knew that he was right. But she couldn't help her emotions, and the thought of him dying out there on the battlefield made her feel like she might die herself. She would talk to her uncle, yes that was it, surely he would grant her this small favor? Her mind was sidetracked though when he started talking of the selection and offered his arm to her. Fern wiped the tears from her face and tucked her arm in his, "Thank you, such a gentleman.... but don't think for a second that we won't revisit this conversation at a later date," Fern then held her head high and walked with Devon towards the Dining room.

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (summerrain15) Devon smiled briefly. "If you wish, Fern, yes we can revisit it." He commented, though he wasn't sure why she cared so much, he was just happy she was no longer crying. And for some reason, he was escorting her to dinner. Wow. Little bit overwhelming for a first day, but somehow it was a good overwhelming.

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments (Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh my feels are so hard right now because of vampire diaries, and then these are falling in love and I AM HAVING A HARD TIME CONTROLLING MYSELF)

Devon's words reminded Fern of a book her cousins had once read to her, The Princess Bride, the romantic man in the book would say "As you wish" After the girls asked for things, it was one of her favorites because it was full of adventure, and romance. She smiled shyly up at him, "Thank you." She murmured to him before they continued on their way, the dining room right around the corner, "Would you be my escort for tonight? To the dinner I mean?" She asked, not sure if that was even allowed, but she had to try, she didn't want to see him leave just yet, of course he might not be allowed to escort her. She wasn't sure of the rules in this department, this was the first time she'd even taken an interest in a boy before that wasn't fictional.

Sυммer Rαιɴ || Wrιтιɴɢ ιѕ α cαllιɴɢ, ɴoт α cнoιce. (summerrain15) Oops, I didn't see your post before I posted Oliver's speech but it's fine, I'll just fix it here. And omg I meant for it to be The Princess Bride reference!)) And in The Princess Bride, every time he said that, it meant he loved her. Devon wasn't sure she would understand that reference, though it had been in the back of her mind. He tensed when she asked him that. "I will be there but I am not sure I should be seated at the table..." However, he hated the idea of saying no to her, so he instead said, "How about you save me a seat and ask your uncle? And until you get permission, I will stand guard behind you." He offered, smiling back at her. He wasn't sure why but he liked the idea of eating dinner with her. He just didn't think the king would like that idea.

lil' Lily [ filled with DETERMINATION ] (runelily) Calypso leaned against the wall in the hallway, and sighed. The fist day of the selection had been hectic, and her being one of the younger able-bodied maids, she had done more then her fair share of running. Calypso couldnt wait to get to her room and snuggle under the covers, but she had stopped here in the hallway to catch her breath before returning to the kitchen one last time to see if anybody needed anything. Tomorrow was another long day of work, Calypso thought. No time for relaxation. And with that though, Calypso began to walk down the hall.

lil' Lily [ filled with DETERMINATION ] (runelily) Calypso speed walked down the hall, muttering lists and chores to herself as she counted various things at once on her fingers. She was so consumed with tomorrow's chores, that she didnt even notice the gaurd also walking down the hall, and ran right into him, and landed on the floor. "Ow!" Was her first reaction, then. "Oh! Im so sorry! I just got so distracted with everything that has to be done…" Calypso trailed off. She blushed when she realized that the man was a gaurd, and a very good-looking one at that. She banished the part about him being good-looking from her head, focusing on the fact that she had bumped into a gaurd who probably had important gaurd things to do. She blushed harder, glad for the cover the darkness gave her

lil' Lily [ filled with DETERMINATION ] (runelily) Calypso quickly stood up, recovering from her fall as if it had never happened. "Oh, I'm fine." Calypso assured him, calming down considerably. "I am trully sorry if I caused you any delay to your… gaurdly… duties." Calypso finished akwardly, realizing she had no idea what gaurds really did except stand around all day. She put it on her mental to-do list to find out tomorrow. "If there is ANYTHING I can do to make it up to you, please let me know." Calypso stood there, silently awaiting the gaurd's favor. She expected him to ask for a cake, or maybe some kind of neatening done to his room, as most boys asked.

lil' Lily [ filled with DETERMINATION ] (runelily) Calypso coughed akwardly when the gaurd mentioned her slip up. Then, when he mentioned taking care of his sister, she fumed, through with pretending to be polite. "WHAT!! Babysit your sister!?! Do I LOOK like I have that kind of time!?" She yelled, stepping back, a calculating look upon her face. "If I check in on her every day… cut out training… speed up cooking… dash through the halls…" Calypso muttered to herself, then she looked up in triumph. "Since I DID run into you, I've made a plan to check in on Azalea once every day for a week. Unlike YOU, i dont have an abundance of spare time, so that will have to suffice." Calypso glared at William, as if daring him to argue. Calypso was already Azalea's maid, but she'd make herself look important by pretending not to be. Thats strange, she thought. Why do I feel the need to look important in front of him?

lil' Lily [ filled with DETERMINATION ] (runelily) Calypso's eyes widened. Her father had drunked her entire life, and when he was drunk, he forced Calypso into… she shuddered at the memory. She stepped back from William, horror written all over her face. She tried to compose herself from the painful memories William had uncovered with his statement, but it was too late. Calypso collapsed against the wall, and tears began to roll down her cheeks against her will. She tried wiping them away with her sleeve, but they just kept flowing. Eventually, as she tried to wipe away another round of tears with her arm, she must stopped, and sobbed into it instead. "Go away!" Calypso demanded. She needed time to organize her emotions, and she couldnt do it with him here.

lil' Lily [ filled with DETERMINATION ] (runelily) "Go away!" Calypso shouted. Then she began muttering to herself. "Men are so stupid," she said between sobs. "They think its just a game. Something to keep them entertained." Then she looked up William, glaring at him with pure hatred. She flinched away when he put his hand on her shoulder, then scrambled backwards, and to her feet. "Well guess what!? My father WASNT kidding when HE said that!" Calypso said, then ran down the hall. She needed to get far, far away from William. Men are all terrible. All of them. She thought.

She'd kissed him the night before when she'd had some wine with her sister and some other maids, and now she was going to have to explain to him that she really didn't care much for him at all. It was awkward, really, but when she did run into him, she wouldn't have any problem telling him the news; she was just procrastinating. Once she saw that he wasn't there, though, Anika stepped bravely into the hallway with her head held high. Her silky blonde hair was strung up into a ponytail, and it bounced and swung with every step she took in her high heels. She was wearing her plain, black uniform dress, and truly wished she'd put on tights that morning, since there was a chill in parts of the castle. But there was plenty of activity, with the selection just starting. Some were excited about it, but Anika just found it strange. It was like 35 arranged marriages and then 34 divorces, in her eyes. She didn't see how they all enjoyed it so much. Anika's pale blue eyes were trained ahead as she made her way towards the main part of the palace. She didn't have anything to do, so she figured she would go to the kitchens and see if chef Christopher needed any help.

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Jack Gallagher had just arrived at the palace, and he was more than excited for his long stay vacation away from home. There were issues back home with the way he wanted to take his life, and he might have to make some big decisions concerning money and his family when he went back. For now though, well he was going to search out Zane and maybe have a few drinks, while watching Zane's brother go through 35 girls like they're water, or was that how it was done? he wasn't sure, but he was walking through the halls, trying to find his way around. He'd lost the butler that'd been previously saying he would serve Jack, but Jack didn't want the guy, he wanted a girl to serve him. So he'd lost the fellow, perhaps purposely, and lost himself at the same time. Just as he was rounding a corner he collided with a young, blonde girl, very cute, he steadied her and gave her one of his signature smiles, "Hello there gorgeous."

ᵉˡˡᵃ | 2375 comments Anika thought for a moment about how she would break the news to the poor soldier, and had finally decided that it would be best to be frank, so he didn't think there was any way she would get together with him ever again, that it had just been a drunken accident. She was feeling very confident when she went to round a corner and felt a large body collide with hers. She stumbled some, but his arms steadied her, and then her attention was being called from keeping her balance to his face, when he decided to chime in and call her gorgeous. Anika looked at him with a raised brow for a moment. He was definitely handsome; with tanned skin and dark eyes that seemed to pull her in. But he was also very cocky, that much was obvious, and wasn't any part of the staff that she knew, so he must've been a guest. "I'm sorry sir, my mistake." She said, curtsying quickly and rolling her eyes just a little bit to emphasize that she didn't care for his compliments. She had enough ego to fill a relationship, she surely didn't need anymore. "Can I help you with anything?" She asked him politely, a spark in her eyes showing that she really didn't want to help him at all. But she made perfect eye contact the whole time.

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments Jack rose both brows, "Your mistake? Certainly not, nothing with you could ever be taken as a mistake." He was bold, not unlike him, it was part of who Jack was. She curtsied and he smiled easily at her, the edges of his eyes crinkling with the action. She didn't seem very touched at his compliments, but that didn't faze him, Jack was full of energy if he had interest in a girl, and this one seemed interesting. "Yes actually, there's plenty that you could help me with," He told her suggestively, then he leaned in, closing the space between them, purposely making her uncomfortable, or hoping to. "I'm sort of lost, I'm best friends with Zane? Prince Zane? And the guy they gave me to help me out bailed, so I was looking for someone to be on my services, as well as point me in the right direction... could you help with any of that?"

ᵉˡˡᵃ | 2375 comments Anika felt her cheeks burn red when the man leaned in towards her while he spoke, making a frown grace her pretty pink lips. Not from embarrassment, but our of anger and early frustration. She didn't like anyone forcing their way into her space. As far as Anika was concerned, she was the one that called the shots, the one with the control. She held her ground, to show him that he couldn't bother her in sub ways, but also to try and falsely indicate that she wasn't effected by his closeness. "Of course, I can help you find Prince Zane, I am sure someone knows where he is." She told him, her Russian accent coming out thick in her speech. She'd only been in Illea for six months, so the accent was still very much there. Anika turned on her heel and started to walk the way she'd come to show him the way to Prince Zane "But I believe that's all I will help you with. This is a palace, after all. Not an escort service." She spat out the words in a frustrated tone, not even looking at the man that was hitting on her.

Leena (leena23) | 3786 comments The girl didn't back away, but neither did she lean in, she was standing her ground. Quite a surprise for Jack, he rose a brow and tried to keep his surprise off his face. She said that she could help him find Zane, so that made his morning a little better, then he could catch up with his friend and see what in the world was going on for the day. She then threw an insult over her shoulder though as she began walking away and he laughed, a full chuckle as he walked behind her. "Honey if I wanted an escort service I could've brought my own entourage from Italy," He informed her, catching up so that he was walking beside her instead of behind her. "I do say though, I've never had an accented mouth like that on me though," He grinned wickedly, not ashamed of his words or actions in the least, Jack was used to getting his way when he wanted something, or rather someone. He would get this young Russian, she just didn't know it yet, and the thrill of the chase would just make it that more exciting.

ᵉˡˡᵃ | 2375 comments Anika kept her steady pace, still walking very much away from this man, who's name she still didn't know, but then again, he didn't know hers either, and maybe she wanted to keep it that way. Her eyes practically rolled out of her head when he mentioned bringing his own entourage. She'd encountered men like him before, and well, generally she liked them; the authority they had. But something about this one got on every nerve she had, so she wasn't going to fall like some domino for him. "Any man with a charming smile could do that, it doesn't make you very special, sir." She snapped, practically spitting out the word like it was an insult. But she also didn't want to get fired for disrespecting him... Eh, that probably wouldn't happen. When he mentioned her accent, Anika's cheeks flared red. She quite liked her accent, but she didn't think it was something to be lusted after, like the pig behind her was implying. In just seconds she stopped walking and turned towards him, looking him in the eyes and leaning close. She parted her lips, and glanced from his dark eyes, downward. Anika placed her hand lightly on his chest "Im sure you haven't," she muttered, tilting her head some, making him believe that she was about to kiss him. Anika got nice and close, her lips just a centimeter away from his "and you never will." She breathed against his mouth, before swiftly turning and swinging her hips "Prince Zane is probably in the drawing room with the others, we'll check there first." Anika said in a casual tone, a smirk on her face as she walked away.

The air seemed to get a bit more chilly after Anika said something about charm, Jack almost laughed aloud again, he did have such amazing effects on people. She surprised him though, and turned on her heel to come at him, all saucy and wanting almost. His brows rose on his forehead as she inched further and further into his personal space, apparently she didn't mind playing games either, and he wasn't sure if he was impressed, flattered, or turned on, maybe all three. She got really, really close to him, so close that he thought for sure that they were about to kiss already, and just as he was about to lean in she was waltzing away like she was on top of the world. He blinked at her as she walked away talking about a drawing room or something of a sort, he cleared his throat , then went walking after her. "Oi," He said as he caught up with her, "I think I could change your mind, if you give me a chance, I'm devilishly handsome and can be quite charming, or so I'm told," He told her as they sort of speed walked down the halls.
