Hi, I've started it yesterday and am loving it so far. I'm on chapter 14. The chapters are short and fast, and so far they have a no-fuss storytelling. Also, I'm liking the overall concept of a world where humans are immortal and death has to be brought about by the Scythes for population control. (view spoiler)[ The people here are said to be not scared of dying because the statistical probability of being gleaned is insignificant. But I don't know how they can live so peacefully knowing that it can happen for anyone and anytime and there's nothing you can do to stop it. It's like living in a world where death can only be brought about by accidents and you can't even try to avoid it by being cautious. Is that even a better living condition? (hide spoiler)]

I really enjoyed this book! I thought the world was so fascinating and I've heard there is even more world-building in subsequent books. I'm definitely picking up the next one soon. I thought Citra and Rowan were good characters overall, though I think we could have gotten even more into Rowan's internal conflict. I definitely agree with what you said in terms of how can they live peacefully when they could be gleaned at any time? There was definitely times where you had to suspend your disbelief and some things worked out a little too conveniently, but I always rate my books based on how much I enjoyed them so I gave this five stars :) (hide spoiler)]

I'll be picking up the next one this month itself. I agree, a little more on Rowan's conflict would have been good. Hopefully next one will have it. I am glad you liked it.
