Great that it's a group read (again). I've read and loved Cricked Hunters and The Boulevard Monster, can't wait to read Sunray Alice!

Thanks, Brennan! Glad you're enjoying it so far!

Can't wait to hear both of your thoughts!

Thanks, Feli! Glad you're here!

Yep - I'm not quite as far in, but I totally know what you mean.

It’s really good! I saw you started reading tonight. Hope you didn’t have plans for the next few hours. It’s hard to put down. Your just reading along, having a good time and uh oh! It’s 2a.m!

Thanks for asking, Latasha. After I learned about an internment camp in the Texas panhandle that was located near where I grew up, I became fascinated with it because I'd never known such camps existed. I did a lot of research on it and other camps in the US at the time and knew I wanted to include the concept in a story somehow, but I didn't have an idea for it yet. Years later, during Covid lock down, thanks to my wife's prodding, I dug out some old notebooks to find an idea to flesh out and realized my notes about the camps matched perfectly with another short story I'd abandoned years earlier. I describe this in more detail in an Author's Note at the end of the book for those interested. I wouldn't read it until you finish the story, though, because it has some spoilers. :)

Hope you enjoy your time in Sunray, Jennifer!

Thanks, Sally. I love her, too. In my heart and mind, Alice is and always will be a "real" person. Like a neighbor or friend I've known my whole life. :)

Thanks for giving it a try! Look forward to hearing your thoughts!

So glad you're enjoying it, Sally. Thanks for the compliment! It makes my heart happy.

Thanks, Tosha! So happy you enjoyed it!

Thanks for reading! Hope you enjoy your time in Sunray!

Awesome! Look for to hearing your thoughts!

I finished a week or so ago. I really loved the writing and the characters. Alice was such an interesting lady, I wish I could meet her. And I'd love to visit the garden too!
I did struggle abit with the story after we met Karl and was introduced to his ability. I had an 'a-ha' moment and the end of the story was quite clear. From there I didn't feel quite as invested as Alice was slowly telling Emily and the reader what I'd already worked out.
But the writing and the story kept me present and reading and I'm glad it did. What a lovely and also devastating story.
Thank you for taking us to Sunray Jeremy!
