You. Would. Love. This. Kas. You would love it, for real. It's kinda painful with a heart like yours, but it's so freaking good! I'll wrap your heart in a blank..."
ALL OF THIS! It's heartbreaking, but the story just completely captivates! (I may have shed a tear or two, but there were no witnesses). ;)
One thing I have to say is that if it weren't for this being chosen as a group read, I probably would never have discovered it. You never know what books will make a "lasting" impression on you, personally. Judging by the cover, I would never have bothered. So glad the members chose this!!

Hope you enjoy it Inci, loved this one!"
Thanks Sally!

Every month! I didn't get to Bunny this month, time allow..."
I hear you. I've currently signed up for like 4 GoodReads groups that I want to do the monthly readings for... there's no way I'm going to be able to keep up. But I'm gonna try! ;P
Definitely find time for Bunny sometime, though. It was super fun.

-- This was possibly the most mind-warping thing I've read since maybe Elizabeth Hand's Wylding Hall. Same feeling of stepping into a nightmare I can't step back out of.
-- Eamon & Runney both wind up having the same experience of having gone beyond the hedge, after being warned by their elders NOT to. Doesn't work out all that well for either of them!
Ann wrote: "I just finished last night. Did predict part of the ending -- a horror standard -- but all in all was very pleased with the time I spent reading this one. Incredibly unusual. A couple of non-spoile..."
YES! Wylding Hall was exactly what came to mind--unable to explain why, but that book just took a hold of me and now I reread it at least once a year. That's how this one made me feel--like something that will keep drawing me back.

I hate when work gets in the way of reading time. I hope that you enjoy it every bit as much as I did!

A graphic novel would be fabulous! If that happens, Im buying!
Rikki wrote: "I just finished the book, and I loved every minute of it! Thank you to whomever recommended this one. It was a fantastic read."
This was truly a "surprise" fantastic read for me--so glad it was chosen!

It's a slow-burn until it's not. And then -- it is definitely NOT. And just keep in mind, all those details you're slogging through now will indeed prove to be significant later on. Or at least, the vast majority of them will. (-:

This may be my most "unexpected" favorite of the year so far.

Rikki wrote: "I’m curious, does anyone have a favorite animal character? I really loved Flackwell Frog because he is so proper yet relaxed. He didn’t seem to have it out for humanity quite as much as the rest."
Flackwell and Runny--same reasons. (view spoiler)

To be honest, I really loved Finn because he was such a savage XD

Finn is a really cool character! I would love to have a collection of the characters as little statuettes.

Ooh yes! Me too! I love action figures, there just aren't enough of them from books ya know?

This would be a great idea for marketing!

On the authors facebook page, he says he is having a someone carve a statuette of Runny. Im not sure if he is going to expand it to the other characters or not. He is considering auctioning the piece off for charity.
It would be really neat to have a set featuring each character.

As a chess board . . . .

Ooooh! Take my money! Would buy in a heartbeat!

Oh man, now I need to follow on Facebook in case they show a picture!

i definitely enjoyed the read though! the way he built it up in the beginning and was able to bring pretty much all of it back around again in the end was just incredible. i was also so invested in the characters, animal and human alike. definitely a 5-star read for me!

LTJ--It's one of those that I can't stop coming back to, mentally. I've been thinking about it on and off since I finished. This one is definitely a re-read book for me!

agreed! both picks for may ended up being solid hits for me. even though they were both on my tbr already, i'd had some doubts about them. now wishing i had read them sooner!

I landed on a 4.5 but it stuck with me enough after that I bumped it up to the elusive 5. It's just that good!

The characters, twists, carnage, it had everything I love to read in a horror novel and then some. Even though I felt it definitely had a slow burn at first, once it picked up, WOW, it just was a genuine page-turner and kept me hooked. LoL lots of creepy scenes as well...
Honestly, I debated the 4.5, but because of how much I was (still am!) thinking about it, it became a definite 5. Any book that stays with me like that is top tier!
Hope you enjoy it Inci, loved this one!
