Well, basically, you can either make an oc belonging to a fandom, rp your own take on an already existing character from a fandom, or just make an oc without a fandom. Then you dedicate the blog to the your character, and... Well, idk how else to explain it honestly? Then you just roleplay with peeps

I only have one character on one blog, although I know people who have mutliple characters on one blog~ They're called multi-muse blogs if I'm not mistaken

You'd probably want to make a seperate account, as a lot of people only rp with mutuals plus you'd want to be able to send asks, but technically speaking having it as a side blog would be possible.
But yeah, you'd only really need one new account for all of your characters

And okay, so I assumed you joined a roleplay group? I'm not %100 sure about that because I've never done one, but here's how general roleplaying works and I assume it works similarly in groups.
First you have to follow other roleplay blogs, but if you're in a group I'd assume that it just means everyone else in the group is there to rp with. I'd still suggest following people first though, and if their rules say they only rp with mutuals then you'll wanna wait until they follow you back.
After that, a lot of people will reblog starters onto their blogs, so you just have to look around until you find one you like and send them an ask with a starter of your choice. Make sure you're not on anon though, because basically what they'll do is they'll answer the ask with their reply.
Afterwards you just reblog their reply with your own, and continue on like that.

Otherwise, let's see... Well, I'd suggest having your blog all set up before you start roleplaying with people? Which means you should have a rules page and a page about your character, but I believe that's about it? And if you're looking for people outside of the rp group, I know a couple people you could follow~

idk XD I pretty much don't play games unless its a DS or Xbox game and its a phone one. The only game I have on my phone that I like and continuously play is Solitaire.
