I just wrote the longest information page for the people known as the 'dwellers' who will exist in my new role-play. Do you guys want to take a look and see if it makes sense??

The dwellers are the last remaining ancestors of those that survived The Fall. They are a wild and savage community of humans who struggle to sustain themselves in the desolate landscape of Earth. They act under a simple hierarchy with a single, fertile male leader and several sub-commanders. What the leader says is essentially law and punishments are brutal and often violent. Their territory extends from the Wasting Sea far into the desert outlands, many live in simple tent-like structures or in the shells of abandoned buildings. The dwellers trade in a currency of water, engine parts and sparse oil deposits. Whilst many vehicles no longer work those that still function are a rare commodity and are highly prized possessions. The leader of the dwellers has the largest arsenal of vehicles and firearms, using them to extort loyalty from the poor and keep his people in line. He maintains an army of strong, well-bred soldiers known as The Horde. These men are used to steal resources, women and oil from other surviving humans.

In general the health of the dwellers has been largely affected by hereditary disease and mutations caused by leftover radiation. Many of them are sterile and affected by debilitating illness. Those that aren't are used for breeding stock or as fighters in the leaders cult army. The Horde often pillage nearby settlements and attack survivors on the road, any women found to be fertile and of great beauty are taken by the horde for breeding purposes. The main dweller settlement known as the Citadel is built out in the desert, water is supplied from an underground pumping station and shelter is provided by a large dilapidated building. It is impenetrable owing to it's protection by The Horde and the vast wasteland makes it impossible to approach the Citadel without being seen. The dwellers are yet to fully explore the post apocalyptic world and the existence of the lush green forests is merely myth to most of them.

The lifestyle of the dwellers is very simplistic, material possessions are not valued by those who live outside of the Citadel and only the leader takes pride in gold and luxury. Most traverse the rough terrain on horseback and only carry small packs with them in case they are ambushed by other dwellers. They are often dressed in ragged, neutral coloured clothes. Many cover themselves in leathers or linen and usually hide their faces to avoid the threat of sandstorms. It is not uncommon for women to dress as men in order to avoid confrontation with the Horde. Women are considered property to most men and only one woman is known to have taken a commanding role beneath the leader. She has been dubbed as one of the Untouchables, along with the leaders many wives. They belong to him and cannot be used by other men, even those in the Horde. The Untouchable Wives are the most beautiful creatures to remain on the deserted planet. They are a source of envy to many of the male dwellers and will be used to mother future soldiers for the Horde.

Dwellers do not take much pride in themselves and many are born orphans and nameless. The naming structure is very simplistic, colour names are common and titles taken from the natural world and remaining human structures are often seen. Family groups amongst the dwellers are rare. Many mothers die during childbirth owing to unsanitary conditions and men will rarely keep a female child as she will not bring honour to the family by joining the Horde. Death at a young age is very common with many children being worked too hard or taken in as soldiers of the Horde. If they cannot keep up with the other soldiers they will be punished for it. Those who are not part of the Horde but exist within the main dweller settlement will usually live in small huts just outside of the Citadel. For their allegiance to the leader they are offered protection by the Horde. Other external settlements often bargain with the Citadel, offering the trade of women and resources to avoid attack. Those who are not part of an existing settlement often travel alone or in rogue groups. The lifestyle of the dwellers is highly animalistic and conflict is in their nature, they will be hostile to anyone they don't know or anything they do not understand.
