I loved this story and I hated it too. Stan and Teri are the only ones to get a HEA. Sam and Alyssa were just too sad. Max has a lot of guilt about Gina and that is going to ride him hard.
Overall, I love the story. The action was nonstop, and I loved how I stayed on the edge of my seat.I am disappointed in the path that Sam and Alyssa's relationship took. I don't know how Brockman will resolve this bad marriage deal. I was looking forward to Sam and Alyssa from book one, and now, I almost don't care, which makes me sad.
Sharon, hang in there! This broke my heart but trust Brockmann. Keep caring.
Listening to the story was like reading it for the first time. I had the old version but it was very, very good.
I did a little research and her original audiobooks were recorded by BBC Audiobooks of America, which was acquired by AudioGo, which was later bought by Blackstone. Blackstone reissued the audiobooks at Brockmann’s request to use a dual narration format, which she trademarked. There was nothing wrong with the originals; she just wanted to establish constant voices for the series.

I'll hang in there. I thought of several ways this will go on, but I can't say I'm ready for any of them. I hate when authors have characters make these stupid decisions.
It was enjoyable and I am glad I am getting back into the series @Sharon - I also had that feeling at the end of this one. I was so looking forward to Sam and Alyssa getting together but this twist is disappointing. I do not like romances where the hero/heroine have children with other people. I know it is not realistic, but that's just. me.
Lauren, I don't have a problem with the child so much since that happened before Alyssa. I have issues with a marriage that is loveless from the start. A child can't be happy in that environment. Also, it is probably going to lead to cheating, which I don't particularly appreciate even when I love the couple.

I doubt there will be cheating. Sam is too honorable for that.
Sharon wrote: "I'm going to trust you, but expect me to be a sour puss if this goes on too long.😁"Sam and Alyssa's book is #6, so it's going to go on for at least that long.
Jonetta wrote: "You guys are cracking me up! Tough audience, as you should be."We know what we want and aren't afraid to demand it, lol!
Sharon wrote: "I hope you're right Lauren. My opinion of Sam would change if he became a cheater."You can say that again! He will be in the ant-hottie harem before he could blink!
I loved this book. But I do remember being quite upset when I read this book years ago. I couldn't believe the twist with Sam and Alyssa.
