We’ve all been watching the devastation of the floods in Qld and Northern NSW over the past weeks, and it breaks our hearts to see those communities suffer so much.
You may have seen the photos of ruined, waterlogged books being thrown out of the first floor windows of Lismore Library - what you may not know is that this is the second time in five years that the library has had their stock destroyed by flooding, and many of the books being discarded had only recently been replaced.
In order to support Lismore Library in their recovery, BAD Sydney Crime Writers Festival has organised a fundraising event with some of our favourite regularly BAD crime authors!
Top Australian crime writers Candice Fox, Chris Hammer and Michael Robotham will be chatting with crime fiction lover and ABC broadcaster Kate Evans from Radio National’s Bookshelf at the State Library of NSW, about libraries and books in their lives, and the crime story they could set in a library.
The event will take place at 6pm on Friday 1 April, and will be followed by book sales and signings. This event will also be livestreamed on Zoom.
In-Person tickets: $45 Livestream tickets: $20
100% of the proceeds received by BAD Sydney from ticket sales to the event will be donated to Lismore Library's recovery.
You can also make a donation of any amount on the booking page if you are unable to attend but would like to support. We hope you can join us for an evening of crime writers in conversation - whether in person or online - and help us support Lismore Library and their reading community recover.
