Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Hi everyone - just a quick clarification on 'Option 3 - Pass':

Each team member can only select option #3 once each 5 (five) weeks. These will be managed in 5 week blocks. AND each team may only have ONE person 'passing' for the round each week.

If someone uses a Pass in week 5 (covering weeks 1-5), they can use one more between weeks 6 and 10.

No-one can use the pass in week 11.

If it's our interpretation of handsome, what are we looking for "via the precis, main page location, list or shelf"? Some sort of description of the man or a tag of 'gorgeous' or something along those lines?

Thanks!

This one is ok - there's enough face to see his features and assess 'drool-worthiness'. 🙂

Yes - need to see eyes and part of the forehead. Profile of face like Kat's above it ok cos we can actually see the full length of face.

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Next theme (week 10) is in 10 or so hours.

Reminder: Once I call this task, no-one can pull out of the challenge for whatever reason. I will also not remove anyone unless they are contravening rules within week 9 (I will check the threads after the week 10 call ~ which is my time when I get up in the morning).

If you are behind, you need to get your books read so that your team have a chance at the win!!

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Week 10

Option 1
4. The first known use of the term K-pop occurred on Billboard on October 9, 1999

* Read a book with a 9 in the page numbers.
Rules on page numbers apply - minimum count (109pp ~ since you can't get a 9 in the count otherwise and still qualify); any English language edition.

Option 2
Key date: 3 December 2021
Team mate read on or after this date and rated at least 3 stars

Option 3
Pass

message 135: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I've put a tracking spreadsheet link in the first message of this thread if you want to see how your team is doing :)

message 136: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments There are still a few selections missing across a few teams for week 10.

If they are not in there before I call our final theme, the team cannot win no matter how fast they read to catch up.

I have updated the spreadsheet in msg 1 to show the status of each team.

message 137: by Jane (PS), Moderator (last edited Jun 09, 2022 11:35PM) (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I'll announce the final theme for this round in 14 hours ~ 4.30pm US EST.

(That time is 6.30am in mid-winter for me, with frosts in a poorly insulated cottage 🥶🥶)

If a selection post from week 10 is still missing when I go through the threads after the announcement, then the team will be automatically out.

If you use Option 2, you must pick from the team that I allocate out in the last task announcement post. A list will be provided in the final task allocation.

The team member whose shelves you choose from, must be a current member of the team. I have removed all team members that have stopped playing from message 1 in each applicable thread, so if you are using this option please double-check that your selected team member is current.

The pass option is not available in this final week.

In case the final tasks requires books from stated lists, please make sure you check the outstanding tasks... You can add books to the lists (ensuring that they qualify first) right up until I announce the new theme.

Finally, I will not be notifying the teams if their posts are not correct. Please check your own team members to make sure they meet the requirements for both selection and completion posts. Until all posts are correct, you cannot claim a win.

message 138: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Week 11

Option 1
14. Jimin - Fabulous dancer, great singer and Gucci loves him as they sell out of everything he wears. He's also the member that many men would turn gay for (even though Jimin is not actually gay). Is he almost perfect?

* Read a book from one of the following lists:
The Mary Sues of Literature
The Gary Stus of Literature
Dream Guy
YA contemporary romance with perfect guy
Best Gay For You
Any book written by Mary Calmes

Books must be selected from one of the lists above. Please state the list in your selection post.

Option 2
Key date: 10 December 2021

If you use this option, this week you must select your book from the team shelves immediately below your team in this list. The last team picks from the first team.

5 Reading is K-ool
1 One Directionless
4 Dynamite Bookworms
11 Books With Luv
7 Seven Singing Foxes
6 BTS ~ Between The Sheets
3 Superstar Glow
10 Don't Know Much About BTS
8 Reading with Luv (feat T8)
9 Butter Me Up
2 The Broken Book Spines

Eg. Team 5 picks from team 1's members bookshelves. Team 2 picks from team 5's members bookshelves.

DO NOT PICK from a team member who has left the team during the game. Picks must come from current members.

Option 3
Not available this week

Please ensure you follow the format shown in msg 3 of your team threads. when you post your selection and completion posts.

message 139: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments When you think your team has finished the Week 11 task (along with all the other books from prior weeks), please post here with your team name to claim the finish.

I will then check the posts. If an element is missing, I will let the team know something is wrong.

If another team posts their completion, and everything is correct, they will win if the first team has not yet corrected their issue and reposted in this thread.

message 140: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments I'm out for the next couple of hours, but will check this thread when I get back.

message 141: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments If you think your team could be in the running for a win, please check your teamies' posts.

They need to have all the right information for both Selection and Completion posts. Editions need to match the page counts and they need to link through to the correct lists/option 2 team player's qualifications.

message 142: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Ok - I'm off to bed and I'll check in the morning to see if any teams have claimed a win.
