Kaje Harper | 17377 comments We had a tie for prompt picture this month, so I'm going to post both; you can write for one or the other, or, if you're ambitious, try to put both of these in a story, poem, haiku... We welcome all your creativity here.

Kaje Harper | 17377 comments You sent me the pic
And a voicemail with a scream
My battery died.

Kaje Harper | 17377 comments Twisted

What is this world
That takes something simple
Like a tree
And warps it into a silent scream?

How do we live
When pain seems inevitable
and is echoed
In the smallest basic things?

.

You hug me.
Tell me, "Hey, boyfriend-of-mine,
We need to
Adjust your basic starting point.

That tree's not screaming.
It's barfing.
After a wild night on the town.
Where all its orifices were satisfied.

And maybe we need
To try that for you.

It really is an area lacking in stories, especially in YA.

Mere Rain | 87 comments Coincidentally just saw this call for YA horror inspired by 90s series like Fear Street:

The Press says, "We also encourage writers to have a diverse representation of BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and strong female, Disabled, fat, and neurodivergent representation."
