Katie (kanelson326) | 8 comments Hi! As of late I've been planning to query in the near future and some feedback would be much appreciated. The query goes:

Roesia is a classic medieval princess, only a little less fair and a lot more frightening. On an ordinary day, she’s training to inherit Corocillo—a kingdom full of wyverns, nobility, and fools. On a celebratory day, however, Roesia participates in jousting tournaments to enhance her skills with a weapon. And she loves to win.

The customs of Roesia’s life must come crashing down when her mother bans her from jousting—and worse, she is now betrothed. But when a marriage alliance with a kingdom across the seas brings a wave of destruction onto Corocillo’s shore, Roesia is forced to flee.

Starving and terrorized, the princess joins a guild in order to disguise her identity. Fortunately, her desperation to hide provides an opportunity to befriend her guildmates, who are nothing if not unorthodox. But a blacksmith, two warriors, a fairy, and a fallen nobleman might be exactly who Roesia needs to take the crown that is hers by right. Now she must use the aid of her guildmates to create a new tale, and one that hopefully ends in bliss. Otherwise it may not be worth telling.

THE GUILD PRINCESS is a standalone YA fantasy novel complete at 104,000 words, drawing heavily on medieval history and turning its myths into reality. Readers of Marissa Meyer and Holly Black will find the incorporation of mythical creatures such as fairies, wyverns, and witches, appealing.
