XX (xsix) | 1 comments Looking for books in these subgenres with this theme. Any age (by this i mean anything from YA to R-18) level as long as you enjoyed them and think they are worth recommending.

I don't mind if there are sci-fantasy elements in them, don't mind if they are 'serious sf' or if it's anime space opera. I don't mind if it's derivative as long as if the prose and characters are good; so it's ok if the author is a Star Trek fan and it shows for example (might be biased since I am), as long as it's delivered in a way that puts a new lens on it and makes it satisfying to read.

Obviously everyone's tastes are different, but I would appreciate people sharing any book titles that spring to mind. Thank you.

I might doublepost this on the Litrpg group, sorry for spam in advance if you're in both. I'll wait and see what responses I get here first.

Karin Wow, okay, well one of my favourites (and the first book won and award) is the trilogy by Janet Edwards that starts with the not-great-title Earth Girl--the protagonist has a problem with terrible allergic reactions to being off planet to has to be portalled to Earth as a child--they also portal on planet. However, she spends most of this trilogy on earth, but others come from off planet. Y/A

There are corollary books off-planet.
