I’ve just finished The Dead Of Winter - S.J. Parris, which is a sort of prequel to the Giordano Bruno series set around Elizabethan events in history. It’s a later release (Nov 2020), but gives the reader familiar with the series a bit of background, and if anyone hasn’t read them, it’s a good starting point. It’s 3 novellas in one book.

If it's in a series, can it be easily read as a stand-alone? If not, you might want to nominate the first book in the series, or the most recent book in it the group has not read together.
Two nominations to a person, please.
