the_rabid_snail | 101 comments "Ah, a kindred soul of sorts, then." Moko grinned. "It's my first day too." Though in all honesty, he didn't know how much of kindred spirits they really were. It seemed she had ended up in the library to read and him out of boredom. Still, they were in the same boat with it being the first day for both of them.
At her return question, his lips curled up into a mischievous grin. And so the conversation turns to me. Out of politeness or out of interest, time will reveal. "I'm sixteen." He answered. "How old are you?"

((Lol, same here. I get easily distracted a lot haha.))

message 52: by River (new)

River "I'm 17!" She said pooping her knuckles((my friend pointed out I do it when nervous or excited and he concluded I do it all the time lol.))

message 53: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments A fleeting second, back to a dead end. Moko was not bothered that she was a year older, like some people might have been. But to be fair, he was a little preoccupied with thinking up bad, impromptu poetry in his head to be concerned with much of anything.
"What grade are you in?" He asked, continuing the conversation.

message 54: by River (new)

River "Junior. You?" She said while looking around the library

message 55: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments "I'm a sophomore this year." He replied, shrugging one shoulder. In all fairness, they probably should have bumped him down a grade since he'd missed a lot of school, and he'd have to work hard if he wanted to catch up. However, he wasn't sure he actually cared enough to get caught up. The only reason he would try would be for his dad, who had insisted he finish his schooling. Alas, what a feign! Fall has come again.
"Do you have any siblings or family?" He inquired, trying to get to know something more about her.

message 56: by River (new)

River "Ya an older brother and sister. What about you?"

message 57: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments A sister, a brother, how kind to one another. For me, for me, none such there. His random musings were getting objectively worse and worse from an artistic standpoint, but once he had started, it had hard to stop, even if his little rhymes were only in his head.
"I'm an only child." Moko answered, letting her make of that whatever she would. "Do you like having siblings?"

message 58: by River (new)

River “Sometimes, that can be annoying especially as Forest fairy’s, bit they can also be amazing and protect me because again as aforest Fairy’s. What your power?”

message 59: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments "That must be nice to have someone you can rely on to have your back." Moko mused, part of him wondering how anyone on earth could trust anyone else that much. Even when it came to his own family, they were some of the absolute last people he'd trust to watch out for him.
"My power is air. I'm assuming that your power is earth since you're a forest fairy?" He asked, not particularly wanting to speak much to his own abilities as they were mostly useless.

message 60: by River (new)

River "Mhm!" And I can always help you if you need me to!" she said smiling at him.

message 61: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments "Thanks for the offer." Moko replied. He was appreciative that she had been nice enough to offer, but the caution in him warned him against taking the offer too seriously. She seems kind, though. He thought, fiddling with the corner of his shirt absentmindedly.
"What kinds of things do you like to do for fun?"

message 62: by River (new)

River "Read, hang out in nature, exploring is something I love!" She said with enthusiasm

message 63: by River (new)

River "What about you?"

message 64: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments Now, someone was speaking his language. Exploring? Yes, please! Like that wasn't all he had been doing for the past couple of years. An elated grin formed on his face at her answer. "I'm a bit of an amateur spelunker, actually, and I like cooking and cartography and just going new places or trying new things in general. In case you hadn't noticed from my amazing concentration, I have trouble staying still for very long." He chuckled at himself, shaking his head at his own joke.

message 65: by River (new)

River "Spelunking sounds fun! Have you found any caves yet? And honestly I have the attention span of a pea." She said bouncing her leg again

message 66: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments "Well, I haven't found any caves around here yet, which honestly has been a bit of a disappointment." Moko replied, wrinkling his nose up a bit at that. "But I'll keep looking until I either fall into one or discover that there really, truly aren't any."

message 67: by River (new)

River Ayrlin laughed at that. She grew a pale pink rose in her ahand and put it behind Moko's ear

message 68: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments Moko accepted the flower with a mischievous grin. "Why, thank you." He bowed at the waist ridiculously, aiming to be the most silly gentleman possible.
It just occurred to him that he hadn't introduced himself. "Oh, hey, I'm Moko, by the way. I think I forgot to introduce myself earlier, whoops." He rolled his eyes at his own forgetfulness, shrugging and grinning amiably.

message 69: by River (last edited May 17, 2022 03:33PM) (new)

River Ayrlin rolled her eyes and giggled at him, "I'm Ayrlin!" She said reaching her hand out to shake. ((Its pronounced Air lynne by the way))

message 70: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments Moko shook her hand firmly and then let it go, though he was careful not to shake too hard. "Huh, that's a cool name. I don't think I've ever met anyone with that name before." He remarked thoughtfully. For him, that was saying something, considering how wide and far he had traveled over the past few years. Individual names were not generally something that interested him too deeply; he was more fond of comparing and contrasting varying traditions from different times and places, but he was always interested when he came across something he hadn't heard before.

((Okay, cool name!))

message 71: by River (new)

River "Thanks! Yours is interesting too!" She said smiling at him

message 72: by River (new)

River ((what should we do keep talking here?))

message 73: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments ((I’ll be back in a sec! I had to hop off suddenly, but I’ll be back in a few minutes, sorry!))

message 74: by River (new)

River ((Alright))

message 75: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments Interesting? Moko didn't think his name was super fascinating. It was basically just the same, repeating syllable, but he shrugged and just decided to accept the compliment. Whether she meant it or not wasn't all that important to him right now, though doubtless he'd think about it later on. "Sometimes people just call me Mo for short, so you can too if you like." It didn't particularly matter to him what she called him, but he thought it would be friendly to let her know.

((I do have to get off in ten minutes, though. I'll be back later tonight, but I've got somewhere to be soon.))

message 76: by River (new)

River "Alright Mo!" She said smiling

message 77: by River (new)

River ((what should we do before you go?))

message 78: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 101 comments "Cool. Well, it was nice meeting you, Ayrlin." Moko nodded sharply, flashing her one of his usual, mischievous grins. "Maybe we'll run into each other again sometime." He stood up to take his leave, his legs itching to move and do something. As interesting as this conversation had been, he had been sitting still for about as long as he could handle. If he didn't go do a cartwheel or roll down a hill or something, he felt like his head was going to explode.

((Since I have to go for a little bit, I can just have Moko go ahead and exit the library, and we could have them meet again the next time I'm on? I don't know if you'll be on when I get back or not, but I'll probably be on tomorrow too. This was fun!))

message 79: by River (new)

River ((Alright It was!!)

"It was nice meeting you too!" Ayrlin stayed in the chair and picked up her book again reading

message 80: by [deleted user] (new)

Kaye sighed and leaned back in her floofy chair.

message 81: by River (new)

River "You never answered my question." SHe said walking towards her. "Why did you follow me if you need no one to talk to?"

message 82: by [deleted user] (new)

"Follow you? I wasn't following you. It's not like this is your library," Alaskaye said.

message 83: by River (new)

River “Still I heard you sneaking around behind the shelves, why do you feel the need to spy on me?” She asked

message 84: by [deleted user] (new)

"Spying? Don't be ridiculous. I can browse shelves if I want to. Again, not your library," Kaye said, rolling her eyes.

message 85: by River (new)

River “Aside from all that, what your name?”

message 86: by [deleted user] (new)

"Why would you want my name?" Alaskaye hissed. She didn't trust strangers and had no need to.

message 87: by River (new)

River “We both go to this school, so stop being stubborn.”

message 88: by [deleted user] (new)

"Stubborn? You're the one who insists that I'm stalking you. And you didn't give me your name." Kaye crossed her arms.

message 89: by River (new)

River “I’m ayrlin. What about you?” She asked crossing her arms and looking down at the younger girl

message 90: by [deleted user] (new)

"Still not telling," Kaye grunted, then went back to her book.

message 91: by River (new)

River Ayrlin walked away from the girl and went back to her ow book.

message 92: by [deleted user] (new)

Alaskaye sighed happily. Finally, no annoying girl telling her what to do. She focused in on her book, eyes scanning the page quickly.

message 93: by River (new)

River ((what should we do now))

message 94: by [deleted user] (new)

((Um maybe have them bump into each other in the halls? Kaye could get so mad that she encases you in a block of ice and leaves you there!))

message 95: by River (new)

River ((Sure and then I can have Moko come and find me! I'll start))

message 96: by [deleted user] (new)

((Great!))

message 97: by River (new)

River Ayrlin grabbed her book and left headed towards the hallway

message 98: by [deleted user] (new)

((Wait there is no hallway topic I'll post one))

message 99: by River (new)

River ((alright lol))

message 100: by [deleted user] (last edited May 18, 2022 06:29PM) (new)

((See ya!))
Kaye gets up to leave as well. She was tired and wanted to sleep.
