NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11132 comments I haven't read very many Agatha Christie mysteries (as an adult anyway), but so far my favorite is detective Hercule Poirot. He is a delightful character. This book is written from the perspective of a young soldier Hastings, who is recuperating from an injury in England. He is invited to stay at a house of an old family friend, where, as you might guess, a murder occurs. Hastings met Poirot previously and recommends him to the family. Hastings fancies himself a future detective and he helps Poirot gather information. His perceptions and misperceptions added quite a bit to my enjoyment of the story.

I will definitely read more Agatha Christie mysteries in the future.

Kelly | 106 comments I've recently found Agatha Christie and although I miss the gory side of murder books, I do enjoy the who-done-it mystery that she provides. I will say it took a while for me to catch on to her writing style as it is not one that I am used to. Otherwise i do enjoy her books and have het to read this one.
