Jereena Montemayor is the artist behind the album Reminiscing, released in 2021. I do not believe she is a well-known artist, yet, her music is still beautiful and found on different music sites. The album contains four songs. These songs are Your Boy, By Your Side, We’re Good, and Reminiscing. Montemayor is mainly an R&B singer, as most of her music is in this genre. The first song, “Your Boy” is the shortest song on the album, is very calming, and is about a relationship. It has a consistent tune until it gets to the bridge, where the song gets more upbeat. The second song on the album is “By Your Side.” This song has contrasting parts, with different sounds, including a jazz vibe at the beginning that carries through the song. “By Your Side” features Joshua Maililay, another artist, who I think harmonizes well with Jereena. “We’re Good,” like the rest of the songs on the album, is about a relationship, but in this song, she is tired of having to accept the relationship as it is. I feel as if the song is mainly tranquil since it does not truly get more upbeat.
Furthermore, The last song on the album, “Reminiscing,” is the longest song and starts with plucking that continues through the song. The bridge in the song is my favorite part, as her voice sounds even more angelic than before. It only plays twice but is still as rememberable as the rest of the song.“Reminiscing” also has a nice intramental part that adds character. I am not sure which song I like the most, but if I had to pick one, it would be "Reminiscing." I feel this way as it is the song I want to hear the most on the album. I would rate this album a 4 out of 5 as “We’re Good” is not a song I have listened to as much as the other songs on the album, even though it is still a beautiful song. I would recommend this album to people who enjoy R&B. It is also very relaxing to listen to, so it is great to hear when you are studying or doing homework.
