NancyJ (nancyjjj) | 11121 comments This looks easy enough! In case anyone is wondering, the ballot is divided into several pages, but you can go forward or back even if you leave questions blank. You can clear individual votes without having to redo a whole page. The program saves your draft. I typed "I am not done voting" on each page, in case I accidentally submit it too early.

Book Concierge (tessabookconcierge) | 8442 comments Anita - I opened the form just to take a peek ... I did put in my name so I could look at the ballot but didn't want to do any voting just yet.

I'm hoping that didn't register a vote for me just because I opened it.

KateNZ | 4104 comments Anita, I’m presuming that we can only submit a form once, is that right? (Anything else feels like a serious hassle for you.)

So any extras we accumulate after we vote (but before voting cutoff) should just be saved till round 2?

I can just discard that false start, so not a problem.

Well there is nothing physically stopping you from submitting the form more than once, however, I'm only going to count one submission per person . . .so it would be easier if you didn't!

Oh, and yes . . .you should just continue to keep a running tally of your votes, and you may continue to accumulate votes from the 64 authors through March 14th.

I did the same thing Anita-I was not ready to commit to a vote, but wanted to check it out-sorry

Holly R W | 3141 comments As someone who is not playing formally, I have a question. There are several authors listed that I have no opinions on. If I vote, can I vote for only the authors I know and skip the others?

No worries. Thanks for the heads up!

Yes, if you don't feel comfortable voting for any given match up, you can just leave it blank.

Sue | 2733 comments I voted. Can't wait to see the results.

Karin | 9250 comments I didn't guess so won't win, but I have been participating in other ways, I so can use my extra points, correct? This is what I understood from other posts.

ETA yes, I found where you told me I could before when I asked questions.

message 17: by Anita (new)

Anita Pomerantz | 9299 comments Yes, Karin! If you have read books for the challenge and recorded earned votes, you are welcome to use them!

message 18: by Theresa (new)

Theresa | 15664 comments I voted. Anita - great straightforward, easy to navigate voting form!

Linda C (libladynylindac) | 1793 comments I can't seem to get to the form. I get an error message each time. Any ideas?

Did you try reloading the GR app? sometimes you just need to clear the GR pathways for some reason.

It's a google form, so you may need to be logged into your Google Chrome profile to get it.

Jenni Elyse (jenni_elyse) How do you earn extra votes again? I can't remember.

NEVER MIND. I looked it up, lol.

Voted.

message 23: by Karin (last edited Mar 02, 2022 01:20PM) (new)

Karin | 9250 comments I voted and then wondered if I should have waited for more extra votes. Then I reminded myself that I didn't make any guesses so I can relax and not be competitive!

However, I am reading more books to save for those votes before the first voting is done in case any of these authors I have been meaning to read or reread get voted out then. Also, and I know many of you will be shocked to read this ;), once I realized I could get oodles of extra points for reading one author from each bracket I am trying to do just that. Not strategically (as in with no thought as to who might get through and who not.)

What does your error message say?

Shocking! 😀

I am terrible at the guessing game, so the participation point game is a lot more fun for me too. My personal goal is to read as many of the 64 authors as I can this year (preferably while they are still in the tournament).* The high point books in the participation point game will challenge (incentivize) me to read authors I might not otherwise choose to read.

I don't think I have a chance of correctly predicting who will win, so I will vote for the authors that I think deserve to go forward, a few personal favorites, and perhaps a few that I want to "save" to read in next round.

I hope not. I don't even have a Google Chrome profile (that I'm aware of) and would have no idea how to log into it.

message 27: by Holly R W (new)

Holly R W | 3141 comments Joy, I was able to vote in the poll and don't have a Google Chrome profile. It was as easy as voting for the monthly tag.

message 28: by Anita (new)

Anita Pomerantz | 9299 comments Yes, no one should need a Google chrome profile to vote. Unfortunately once an error message appears, you may need to clear your cache (try rebooting your computer to start) in order to get rid of it.

I'm not going to read all 64 since I can only get participation points for 4 each round until near the end. I am trying to not get myself in too deep into most challenges this year.
