Fiona | 187 comments Book 1:- I will find you by Amanda Rigby

The newest brilliant book by Sally Rigby and Amanda Ashby. This book is a real treat. Gripping from the start. The story involves three sisters and some major problems in the past that may be affecting the current times. There are some heavy topics here like abuse, but the story is good and we see it through each of the sisters eyes. I loved it! This writing partnership is working really well! A rollercoaster of a book.

Fiona | 187 comments Book 2 :- My dead husband by N.J Moss.

Highly disturbing book about a woman whos husband has died, or has he? She has been in an abusive relationship so it should be relief shouldnt it? But is he really gone for good?
Quite upsetting to read as we see it through her eyes and the author is really brilliant at making all the emotions etc very real. It was hard to read for me, but so well done.

Fiona | 187 comments Book 3 :- Istanbul By Luke Richardson

Istanbul is the sixth in the series about Allissa and Leo. The series is great but they each stand alone too. Ive been a fan of Lukes since his first book Kathmandu, but I have to say I think this is the best! The book is full of the sights, sounds and even smells of Istanbul. Luke is always very good at capturing atmosphere and putting the reader "there" but this one is above and beyond making the book almost an experience rather than just a story. The plot is non stop action all the way through and had me on the edge of my seat...what a ride! Amazing .Brilliant, Gripping, exciting Just fantastic

Fiona | 187 comments Book 4 :- Faith: John Hayes #8
by Mark David Abbott

What a brilliant exciting gripping book. Mark David Abbott brings you through all the emotions on this roller coaster of a story. I really recommend this author as he writes with real heart. This book follows on from The Guru, which was also a good read. Gripping from the start you wont be able to put it down!

Fiona | 187 comments Book 6:-The hidden lives of Tudor women by Elizabeth Norton

This is a fascinating book all about the lives of all kinds of women in Tudor Britain. There are facts about the royal family as well as more ordinary folks too and beautiful details I had not heard or read before despite being a lifelong fan of Tudor times! I enjoyed the balance very much. Excellent book,

Fiona | 187 comments Book 7:-Set him free by Steven Moore and Luke Richardson

This is a prequel as a taster of what is to come in a new series by Steven Moore and Luke Richardson. They are a great combination as Steve's books are all action and Luke's have a lot of atmosphere. This is a magical combo. The story is fast paced and certainly makes you want to read more. I did get to the end saying hey where is more?! Quite a cliff hanger. I think it bodes well and I cant wait to read more. Katya the heroine of the piece is someone not to be messed with and when she sees a child being mistreated in Mumbai she has to step in. I think she is going to be a fun new action hero.

Fiona | 187 comments Book 8:- Box by Matt Shaw

Short story as you would expect from this writer pretty grim. Clever plot, but short.

Fiona | 187 comments Book 9:- The Beasts of Buchenwald: Karl & Ilse Koch, Human-Skin Lampshades, and the War-Crimes Trial of the Century (Buchenwald Trilogy, #1)
by Flint Whitlock

This was a very well researched book. There were a few things missing in my kindle version, missing photos cut descriptions, but the main book was very good. It explains the background, the history of the key players and the evidence. Much of the evidence has now been lost but it was interesting to read how these people were dealt with after the war. I did read facts I hadnt heard before. Its grim reading.

Fiona | 187 comments Book 10:- Web of lies by Sally Rigby

This was a very gripping story with Seb a very new private investigator working for his cousin. Was her husbands death a suicide or not ? The story is intriguing and gripping from page one. I LOVED it! I cant wait for more adventures as Seb is a great character and loved his dog Elsa too!
Highly recommended little brain twisting plot!

Fiona | 187 comments Book 11:- Set You Free: The Liberator: A Kayla Stone Vigilante Thriller #1
by Steven Moore, Luke Richardson

This is the first full book in Luke and Steve's new Vigilante series with Kayla Stone. There is an exciting prequel available which sets the scene for this book but is not necessary to have read it before this as all you need to know is in the book.
Kayla is a feisty Australian returning home after travelling abroad. She happens upon a child she later finds was being trafficked through the airport. Can she stand by and let this happen or will she try to do something to help? The latter of course! The story is shocking but gripping and sucks you into a white knuckle ride of adventure on the seedy side of life. She's a wonderful heroine, real and likeable, but the story is also action packed! Impossible to put it down. I don't remember having read a book quite like this before with gritty real life issues of child trafficking, so its very original. I'm a huge fan of both writers. Luke gives us the atmosphere and Steve always give action and adventure. Together they write in a seamless style which covers it all! Highly recommended

Fiona | 187 comments Book 12:- Survivor of Buchenwald: My Personal Odyssey through Hell (The Buchenwald Trilogy Book 2 by Louis Gros
)Very chilling story of a French prisoner of war in Buchenwald. Book one was very interesting so was eager to read this book from an entirely different prospective. There are some very amazing facts in this book that I had not heard before. The writer sometimes goes off on a rant but honestly after what he went through I think thats the least of his worries! I just felt maybe it could have been edited better. However the author brings all the background etc right up to date now, which was an interesting ending. I was glad I read it. Looking forward to book 3 in this series.

Fiona | 187 comments Book 13:- The woman at the door by Daniel Hurst

This is an excellent and very clever book. Basically a woman turns up on the doorstep one night and everything in Rebecca's life changes. Is her husband cheating on her or not? The plot is clever and then the evolving story is disclosed through the different characters. It really is a psychological plot, with twists and turns along the way. I enjoyed this book . As usual Daniel really delivers on tension and twists! Highly recommended. 4*

Fiona | 187 comments Book 15:- Set them Free by Steve Moore and Luke Richardson

A second exciting adventure in the vigilante series by Steve Moore and Luke Richardson. I really love the character of Kayla who is on a mission to save children from being trafficked by an evil man called O'Shea. She is caring, feisty and able for anything. This is a real action thriller set in Dubai. Steve and Luke really give you the feel of the place, and the plot grips you immediately and never lets go till the end, leaving you anxious for more. Nothing is going to stop Kayla on her quest though they will try...can she save the kids?
This is a great read. Good characters, great descriptions, and great plot! What more could you want?!

Fiona | 187 comments Book 16:- The Boyfriend by Daniel Hurst

Another gripping book by Daniel Hurst. Plenty of twists and red herrings to lead you along all his books are a pleasure to read and good bet for a clever plot! In this book our main heroine is shocked when her previous boyfriends start dying. Is it just coincidence of is something more sinister to blame? You'll have to read to find out!

Fiona | 187 comments Book 17:- Speak no Evil by Sally Rigby

This is the second book about Seb and Birdie, but the books would stand well alone too. Birdies ain’t is fostering a girl found abandoned in the town centre and no one knows where she came from. She seems bright and well behaved but one day she sees something that upsets her and Birdie decides to investigate further. The characters are lovely, well rounded and feel real. The story is clever and real feeling and there are a few good twists. I’m really enjoying this series and highly recommend it and basically anything Sally Rigby writes! Gripping and look forward to the next one.

Fiona | 187 comments Book 18:- Depraved: The Definitive True Story of H.H. Holmes, Whose Grotesque Crimes Shattered Turn-Of-The-Century Chicago by Harold Schechter
Anyone who is interested in real life crime stories or serial killers will have heard of the infamous HH Holmes and his amazing building in America, the Castle. At the same period in time that London was anxious about the horrible crimes of Jack the Ripper, HH Holmes was also wreaking havoc in the USA. I had heard of "The Castle" and how he killed guests in it and that is fascinating but there is so much more to his story. I found the book so well researched and its a very complicated story. So hard to believe its real! The writer takes you through all the crimes and the subsequent enquiries and finally the court case. I learned so much. Will be reading this writer again as it was very well done.

Fiona | 187 comments Book 19:- Fiend by Harold Schechter
Not as good as the last book I read by this author, as there is a lot of newspaper pieces from the time, which I guess is good research but makes for more boring reading! This book is about a very young serial abuser/killer, Jesse is not someone I had heard of before but the story is interesting and as before the writer tries to show you a whole picture of the time and what else was going on.

Fiona | 187 comments Book 20:- Dark Secrets by Sally Rigby
I love these books featuring Whitney, a detective and George, a university lecturer. The characters seem very real and the relation ship is great. This book is gripping from the start. Who killed the family of four, who are all found sitting round a table. Intriguing, which all the usual ups and downs that these books feature. They are all great and this is possibly the best so far! I love the twists and turns in the plot. Sally is a master at this. I can see the characters a a tv series! Hopefully one day. Recommended series by me!

Fiona | 187 comments Book 21:- the Silver Serpent by Scott Mariani
I absolutely love Scott Marianis books. They grip you from the start and this one is no exception. In this book Ben Hope our hero travels for the first time to Australia. In this book Jeff Bens sidekick in France has family problems. Cue the two of them head off to Australia on a mission to find his uncle and figure out what is going on. The story is great and the action non stop. It makes for a non-put-downable book. Loved it!

Fiona | 187 comments Book 22:- The Paris Heist by Luke Richardson and Ernest Dempsy

Both Luke and Ernest are fantastic writers already but together they are a match made in heaven! The book is gripping from page one and I personally couldnt put it down. It reminded me of the great heist films, full of action and fun. The characters are great. Both women star in their own series but again together I think they make a magic team. I look forward with baited breath to the first full length book. This one was great fun!

Fiona | 187 comments Book 23:- Broken Screams by Sally Rigby

I love this series. The main characters are real and their stories progress slowly through the books. They are great fun to read and gripping from page one. This is a particularly good one. I enjoyed the plot and it raced forward so that you couldn't put it down! The whole feel of these books is nice and you get to follow the characters in their lives and problems too. Set in a fictional English town, it also feels real. Cant wait for the next instalment!
