Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult – 2 Stars (Rounded up)

There was so much going on in this book that at times I didn’t know what it was about. There were elephants, psychics, a girl searching for her missing mother, alcoholic ex-police officers, ghosts etc. There were so many plots and subplots that the book didn’t flow at all. I listened to the audiobook, and I was often confused about which timeline we were in, and who was narrating that section. The ending was dreadful, and it actually meant that there was no point in reading this book at all. I have enjoyed all of the previous books I’ve read by this author, so I’m not sure what happened with this book. It just really didn’t seem to have any of the elements I have previously enjoyed in her work. I will try another one of Picoult’s soon, and hope it was just this book that didn’t work for me.
