"You tried to kill me before I ever tried to kill you."

"No I didn't JJ. I didn't try killing you until you tried killing me."

"You did," he reminded her. He'd already had his first slaves though, one of whom was her best friend.

"Shut up." Emma told JJ.

It took her a moment to remember it, it was all so long ago.... Her scowl deepened but she didn't say anything.

He shut up.

Alberon's lips twitched in amusement.

Scarlett was glaring at her brother once more. She hated how he was making her doubt herself. Even before the end though he'd been good at that.

She tapped her foot impatiently and glanced at Alberon.

Alberon had glanced back at Ian but saw him busy with Katava. Good. Even so he didn't like having him around.

Scarlett looked away after a moment, the clouds were starting to gather again.

She didn't say anything but took s breath, trying to get her emotions under control and make the clouds go away again.

"Alright...." Ian said to Katava after a moment. "The biggest problem right now then."

Emma picked up Lori's call. "Hello?"

Alberon watched JJ.

Scarlett was still tempted to kill her brother now. but he still hadn't completely answered her question.

"I'm going to be a bit. I'm sorting out a deal at the moment. I'll text you when I'm on my way." she said through the phone. Then she spotted Chase in the distance with her power. "Gotta go." She quickly hung up and told Alberon about Chase.

He nodded. "He'll have that hanging over him. We should get him to swear before Nadia."

"The favor? I like that idea, but I don't know if he'll agree."

"Probably not," he agreed. "Worth a shot, though." He thought about it. "Or not."

Connor sat down, looking at Grace. Grace looked at JJ from where Connor was.

JJ's legs were char. He leaned back against the tree.

Katava thought-spoke to Ian, Just look at what I've done.

"What? What you did to JJ no one will think less of you for that, not with everyone who hates him."

"How soon is Chase coming?"

JJ listened close. Chase... Unpredictable.

She just shook her head. And then Nathan..

Emma looked and whispered. "About a half a mile away."

Alberon nodded.

Scarlett was watching her brother.


"What about him?"

JJ was watching Alberon and Emma.

He left and he almost killed JJ but I stopped him and I can't tell if that's right or not.

Chase approached Emma and Alberon. He nodded to Alberon. "Should have known you'd be here."

Alberon arced an eyebrow. "What's that supposed to mean?" he asked mildly.

Scarlett looked over at Chase when he came up. she'd never met him but knew he was obviously.


"Well after what he's done I wouldn't have blamed Nathan for killing him. I probably would have in his place. You stopping him doesn't make you bad. it shows....it shows.." He frowned, trying to think of the right word.

[Elizabeth]

"Restraint? not the exact word but close enough."

"Now he'll just be guilty all the same. It never ends!" Katava said finally.

Chase smirked at Alberon. "Alright, so what's this favor?"

"To be determined. When I want it, I'll call." Emma replied.

He laughed, causing major pain in his head. "Spoken like a true WTS. Now come on. Let me through."

"Hello, Chase, nice to see you too," muttered JJ

[Elizabeth]

"Why not answer the rest of my question JJ..." Scarlett tired back to her brother.

"Killing someone like that, especially for your family, doesn't make you guilty of anything "

He smirked. "It's bothering you because you know it's true."

[Elizabeth]

"It's not true. I just want to know how your twisted mind sees it."

[Breanna Joy]

"And you'll never rest until you know." He smirked.

Chase walked up to JJ. "What happened to your legs?"

Kat shook her head. "That's not the point Ian. I'm talking about the toll this is going to have."

Alberon watched, his arms folded.

He laughed. "Go figure." Maybe I can use that against Nathan and make him kill JJ. That way I use them all. Yes! Perfect.

JJ rolled his eyes.

He dropped next to JJ and whispered into his ear, "I'm getting you out of here. Can you stand and fight?"
