DJK | 3 comments In the plains of Syanna, the last fertile land on Zarcadia, siblings Zara, Kaia, and Manu harvest grains to survive. The Chosen have left the dying world a thousand years ago with an oath their descendants would return once they’ve found a new planet to call home. Taken by the imperial soldiers to the capital of Atris, the siblings learn that a prophecy foretells the Chosen’s arrival.

Their prophecy.

They are benders, possessing paranormal abilities the Razhal dynasty has been using to maintain its rule until the Chosen return. Zara is a mindbender, forced to control a massive beast called cylor to fight to the death in the Glory Games, a gory spectacle designed to distract the population from oppression and starvation. Manu is a timebender, locked inside a pod to dream of any future transgressions against the Razhals, assuring rebellion is quelled before it ever arises. Kaia is, well, not having it…

Rebellious and insubordinate, her powers are a mystery, and the Razhals resort to uncovering them by any means – including torture. When Manu befriends a young Razhal prince after saving him from assassination, he learns that the last part of the prophecy had been purposely withheld.

Kaia is to be executed.

Now, the three siblings will have to use their powers, grit, and love to survive, defying the ruthless empire under the crushing weight of responsibility for the salvation of the world.

Told from multi POV and complete at 125K words, THE PROPHECY OF THREE SISTERS is the first in a series of high fantasy novels that will appeal to fans of N. K. Jemsin’s THE BROKEN EARTH trilogy, but also to readers that normally don’t venture into speculative fiction.

Much like Andy Weir, I am a former techie who substituted writing code with writing prose. While this is my debut novel, my first-ever screenplay made it into the top 5% of The Academy Awards Nicholl Fellowships competition. I would be thrilled to hear from you soon.
